If you are new to e-signatures, being asked to e-sign a document may seem a little daunting at first, but it’s really quite a simple process.
First, you’ll receive an email like this one asking you to e-sign a document.
When you’ve opened the email, click this button which tells you to review and sign the file.
When you’re ready to sign, click on the yellow start tag this will take you to the first field that needs your attention.
You can fill out any information that’s being requested on the form, just by clicking into the fields.
To apply an electronic signature click once in the box as instructed.
Here is where you’ll define your electronic signature. You have four different ways to sign this document. Your first option is to type your name on the line and generate a font based signature.
The name you type here will also be the name it uses in any name fields on the form.
You could also choose to draw your signature. With this option selected, simply use your mouse to draw your signature. If you’re like me and don’t draw very well with a mouse you can click clear and start over or choose a different signing method, such as using an image of your signature.
To use this method, upload an image file like a PNG or a JPEG to use as your electronic signature.
The fourth and final option is to use your mobile device to capture your signature. Using this method, you’ll receive a text message on your mobile phone with a web link to a page where you can draw your signature on your phone.
When you send it back to the web, it will automatically be entered as a drawn signature on this document.
Now, that your signature has been applied to the document you can also see that the signer’s name has automatically populated up here based on the text we entered in the dialogue box. The date also gets added to the form automatically.
Once you have completed all the required fields, this button appears and you can click it to complete the signing process.
And that’s it, you’re done. There are a number of ways you can now view or retrieve a copy of the signed agreement. You can immediately download a copy by clicking this link or since a copy of the agreement has been sent to all parties, you’ll receive an email in your inbox; that email will contain a link to the file where you can view the details of the transaction and download a PDF of the signed document. -
