Different teams and channels often need the same asset in several sizes and formats, like thumbnails, web images, or mobile renditions. Processing profiles let you define what renditions AEM creates automatically when someone uploads or reprocesses an asset, so you don’t build each version by hand. Because AEM applies only one processing profile per folder, you need to understand how they work before you plan your folder structure.
