Renditions renditions
AEM creates alternate versions of an asset automatically. These renditions include thumbnails, web-optimized images, and smart crops. Renditions let you use the right size and format for each channel, so you don’t need to export new files by hand. You can preview any rendition before you use it, so you know exactly what you publish.
In the Assets view, open an asset’s Renditions panel to see the web, mobile, and print-ready versions of the file. Select any rendition to preview it, or download it directly.

In the Admin view, open an asset’s Renditions panel to see every alternate version of the file, such as thumbnails, web-optimized images, and watermarked copies. AEM creates most renditions automatically when you upload or reprocess an asset, and the original file always appears as its own rendition. You can upload or delete renditions directly, but it’s best to let AEM manage them for consistent results.
