How to use AM Edge Delivery Services? AM Edge Delivery Services has its own image optimization for size, quality and format. This means that the image is both file type and resolution optimized. In many cases, it is best to use this when possible to avoid SSL handshaking on another domain which can impact the largest contentful paint. In some cases, there is a need for specific dynamic media capabilities such as smart crops. In that case there are multiple ways to address this such as having the dynamic media domain coalesced under the same domain as used by the CDN. Another approach would be to leverage dynamic media with open API. This provides access to approved assets from AEM Assets along with governance and dynamic media capabilities. The steps for doing this are as follows. 1. Select a repository with delivery- prefix in the repository switcher of the asset selector and filter for image assets as shown here. 2. Select target image asset. Single click on the image asset card, copies the details to clipboard. This is confirmed via a success message with copied text. 3. Paste the doc. Notice the link of the image file, being incorporated. The link points to the original rendition delivery URL of the image, which gives you the image as is. 4. Finally, preview the site.
