Experience Manager roadmaps and release videos
Adobe recommends visiting the following resources to stay updated on release information:
Export content fragments from AEM as a cloud service to Adobe target as JSON offers.
Support for GraphQL pagination and sorting, along with internal caching enhancements, now help improve the performance of decoupled client applications when fetching large content sets from AEM using complex GraphQL queries and filters.
Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service
New feature
New protocol (DASH - Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) support launched for Adaptive streaming in Dynamic Media video delivery (with CMAF enabled):
Adaptive streaming (DASH/HLS) ensures better end user viewing experience for videos.
DASH is the international standard protocol for adaptive video streaming and is widely adopted in the industry.
Added support for WebP images to automatically extract metadata, generate thumbnails and custom renditions. Smart Tag and Smart Crop capabilities are also now supported for these files.
Frontend pipeline support for styling core component based Adaptive Forms – Use standardized BEM-based themes for Core Components-based Adaptive Forms. You can deploy them with the Frontend Deployment pipeline to enhance the look and feel of your forms. It can also help align with your organization’s brand approved design guidelines.
Use Headless Adaptive Forms to enable your developers to create, publish, and manage interactive forms that can be accessed and interacted with through APIs, rather than through a traditional graphical user interface. Headless adaptive forms help you:
Build high-quality multi-channel forms in the programming language of your choice.
Natively integrate forms to your desktop and mobile apps, websites, and chat applications
Reuse your proprietary UI components with forms applications
Self-service content copy is now available from a higher to a lower environment by way of the Cloud Manager user interface.
The pipeline run validation step is now enhanced to validate the state of the replication queues early in the run process. This ability ensures that the deployment steps are not affected by blocked queues that are addressed by AEM administrator users directly in the authoring environment.
Bug fixes
Environment creation no longer fails when multi-byte characters are used in the environment’s name.
Workfront for Experience Manager enhanced connector
The release date for the latest version 1.9.10 of Workfront for Experience Manager enhanced connector is May 18, 2023.
Release highlights
Workfront returns a 409 HTTP response for duplicate event subscriptions based on a REST call from Experience Manager to Workfront, which leads to a null pointer exception.
While configuring project linked folders with AEM 6.4, Experience Manager does not save the values for sub-folders and Create linked folder in projects with portfolio fields. The value for the sub-folders field updates to undefined. The value for the Create linked folder in projects with portfolio field updates to Default Portfolio automatically after saving the configuration.
When you use the classic Workfront experience, the Send to option available in the More drop-down list does not let you select the target destination within Experience Manager. The Send to option works correctly using the Document Actions drop-down list. The Send to option works correctly for More drop-down list and the Document Actions drop-down list available in the new Workfront experience.
