Getting Started with the UI

This video gives you an overview over the Adobe Campaign Standard user interface and explains how to navigate to key features and core functionality.

In this video, you will learn how to navigate the Adobe Campaign Standard user interface to create and manage your campaigns. We are currently on the homepage. This is the first screen you will see when you access your Adobe Campaign Standard instance.
Let’s start by taking a closer look at the top navigation.
This is basically divided into three sections. So on the left, the campaign icon. If you click on that, it’ll give you access to the advanced menu. This menu allows you to navigate to specific functionalities and settings as well as the administration. We’ll explore it a bit later.
The main navigation in the center allows you to access the main functionalities with a direct link to the home page, marketing activities, programs and campaigns, profiles, audiences, and reports.
On the right, you have additional resources available. You can find your instance name here and if you have to access to more than one Campaign Standard instance, you will have a dropdown that allows you to navigate to the other instance. The question mark gives you access to additional resources, like the help center, customer care, the community, release notes etc.
Next to the question mark, you can find the select solution icon. These nine little dots. This allows you to switch to other experienced cloud solutions and services. Only those your profile has access to will be active.
The notification icon, that little bell, displays the latest alerts or information. You can mark them as red or flag them.
Last but not least, the user icon displays your profile information, allows you to edit it and it also gives you the sign out functionality.
The home page’s central zone is compromised of a set of cards that give you quick access to the main functionality. You will notice that some of these reflect what you already have available in the top navigation. Don’t be alarmed if your screen looks different to mine. What is available to you on the screen depends on your permissions and the options configured for your organization. The first five cards in the top row allow you to quickly create ad hoc deliveries for the different delivery channels. You might only see a subset of these because your organization might not be using all the channels available in Adobe Campaign Standard. Clicking on one of these cards will open up the respective delivery creation pages. Let me show you an example. Let’s create an email.
Here, you have a standard layout of a screen both in Adobe Campaign as well as the other experienced cloud solutions. You have the top navigation bar. In this case, since we’re on a wizard, we have a breadcrumb, a context-specific help as well as a cancel and a next button. Beneath, you have the advanced menu that allows you access to specific functionality and configurations depending on what type of screen you’re on. Here you can see, for example, we’re displaying six records out of six. Or in a list view, you can change this to a card view by clicking here.
Some screens have the card view by default. So this is where you can swap between these two different views.
If you’re in the list view, you can also change the structure of the lists and which data you are seeing by clicking on this little icon here. The lateral panel on the left which, according to the context, will allow you to filter and search within the elements that are displayed. You can click on the little icon here to either display the lateral pane or to hide it. Some screens have it hidden by default. Let me walk you through the rest of the pages. I will select a template and click on next. I will not focus on the steps of creating an email but more on the screens themselves. So we have the property screen here where you can edit the metadata, so I’m going to just add a label, click on next. On this screen we specify the email’s audience. In the lateral panel, you have the data and the data segments that you will be working with. You drag and drop it into the central zone. So in this case, let’s take the age group and the pop-up basically lets me modify and define the details of the segment.
Okay, this is specific to the email designer. Each delivery has a slightly different content designer, so I will not go into the details for now. There are videos explaining the details of how to create an email and also very detailed videos on the email designer. So I’m saving and our next page is the delivery summary page. This will be the same for all delivery types. There’s an additional navigational element on this page, this dropdown up here. You can see the name of the activity, the delivery here on the top and then you can navigate to different areas from where you could access this delivery.
One of the main pages is the marketing activities page. This is where any activity that has been created appears.
You can also navigate to marketing plans as well as Adobe Campaign from here. This menu will change depending on which marketing activity type you are on.
Let’s take a closer look at the marketing activities screen.
On this screen you will find activities that have been created within the Adobe Campaign Standard instance. These can be programs, campaigns, deliveries, landing pages and workflows. In the list view each activity type has its own specific logo, which makes it easier to identify the activity.
You can search for activities directly, you can filter by start and end date and you can filter by execution status. This is also displayed with a color code, so activities being edited are gray. We don’t have anything in progress but that would be displayed in blue. Anything that is finished successfully, of course, in green.
And warnings and errors are displayed in red.
On many of the list pages, you have the possibility to download the list that is being displayed by clicking the button next to this little icon, next to the create button.
You can download the data into a comma delimited text file. Just be aware that it’s limited to a 100,000 entries.
You can create any marketing activity from the marketing activities screen as well. Simply click on the create button. Here, you will recognize some familiar marketing activities that are also available from the top navigation or the homescreen, however, two activities are just available from here. That would be the workflow as well as the landing pages.
Now let’s get back to the advanced menu and take a closer look. You can access it by clicking on the icon in the top left.
The advanced menu may vary depending on your contract and your user permissions. The menu allows you to navigate to specific functionalities and settings. The little arrow next to the icon indicates that there’s a submenu. So in the marketing plans, you also have access to the marketing activities, programs and campaigns, and the timeline which you can all access from the homescreen. What is unique here, is that this is the place where you can set up the transactional messages. Use the breadcrumb to navigate back in the advanced menus. This little compass will bring you back to the main advanced menu. We have the profiles and audiences, specifically here you have direct access to the test profiles, services like newsletter subscriptions as well as the import functionality that allows you to import profiles and audiences to your campaign instance. Your audiences and profiles themselves, of course, can be accessed as well but as you know now, we also have other entry points for those pages.
The client data is specific to your organization. This will be data that has been specifically set up for your business. So the screen that you’re seeing here, this is data that has been set up for my instance. Yours will look different.
The resources allow you to create templates, both content templates as well as delivery templates, content blocks and fragments. Last but not least, the administration icon gives you access to the advanced functionalities that can only be carried out by functional administrators. So they will only be available to you if you have administration rights.
