Manage time zones

Learn how to apply time zones to scheduled workflow activities.

Hi everyone, welcome to Adobe Campaign. The topic that we’re going to discuss today is managing time zones. You can control time differences between different nations affected by the same instance using Adobe Campaign. When creating an instance, the applied configuration is configured. You can modify the order in which activities are executed in a workflow or the workflow as a whole with each particular time zone. Now let’s start with execution scheduling. Using the scheduler, you may plan when the job should be completed. The activities that have this feature also have scheduling settings that you can use. Opening the Explorer menu, I click on my workflows and start making a new workflow with the name Scheduler Sample. Click on Save. And as we can see, our Scheduler Sample workflow is created. Now clicking on the Event tab, we can see many events there are many activities that we can drag and drop. So let’s start with File Collector. Double clicking on it, we can see the dialog box showing Scheduler activity, expiration, and Advanced tab. While clicking on the Advanced menu, we can choose our time zone. You can see here the name, Execution, and Execution duration. And what we are going to do here is a time zone. By default, it is a default option selected here. As you can see, the various options in the drop down menu, Server Time Zone, User Time Zone, or the Operator Time Zone. Server Time Zone uses a time zone of Adobe Campaign Application Server, whereas the Operator Time Zone uses the operator who executes the workflow. Database Time Zone uses a time zone of the database server used. There are other specific time zones also that uses the selected time zone, whichever you will select according to your name. The workflow time zone is used if by default option is used, otherwise the application server’s time zone is used. Click on OK, and then let’s see Advanced tab of the file transfer. Drag and drop the file transfer event, and double click on it. You can see the same Advanced tab, and there also you can select your time zone according to your need. Click on OK, and let’s end this workflow. Linking a time zone to an activity, you can choose a time zone for the Workthrough activities Advanced tab. Even though the workflow’s time zone usually surfaces, it occasionally might need to be overloaded for a particular task, such data import in order to link weights to the proper time zone. Now here, you can click on Save, and our workflow is ready. So in this module, we learned about time zone management and how to execute our scheduling activity.
