Creating a workflow

Adobe Campaign includes a workflow module that empowers you to orchestrate the full range of processes and tasks across the different modules of the application server. This comprehensive graphical environment lets you design processes including segmentation, campaign execution, file processing, human participation, etc. The workflow engine executes and tracks these processes.

Welcome to Adobe Campaign. In this video, you will learn how to create a workflow in a campaign. Adobe Campaign lets you define, execute and analyze marketing campaigns. In this video, we will create a cross-delivery workflow in a campaign. Customers who are subscribed to a newsletter will receive a promo code in an email, then in an SMS. From the Adobe Campaign homepage, click Campaigns. In the Create category, click Campaign. Edit the label of your campaign.
Select a program to which the campaign will be attached. Click Ok to create your campaign. Select the Targeting and workflows tab.
Edit the Label. In this workflow, we will create two queries: one will target subscribers to the newsletter; the other will target users whose mobile number and email are not empty. To do this, in the Targeting category select Query. Double click the Query activity. We want to create the first query that targets recipients who subscribe to the newsletter. In the new window displayed on-screen, click the Edit query option. Select Subscribers of the information service option. Select the newsletter to which the recipients subscribed. Click Ok. Drag and drop a second query. Double click your Query activity. We want to create a second query that targets recipients whose email and mobile fields are not empty. In the new window displayed on-screen, click the Edit query option. Select the Filtering conditions option, then click Next. In the Expression field, click the Edit expression button. Double click Email to be sure the recipient’s email field is not empty and that the recipient will receive the offer. In the Operator field, select the value not empty. Click Add.
In the Expression field, click the Edit expression button. Double click Mobile to be sure the recipient’s mobile field is not empty and that the recipient will receive the second offer. In the Operator field, select the value not empty. Click Finish, then click Ok. To reunite the results of both queries. We need to add a Union activity. To do so, in the Targeting category, drag and drop the Union activity into the workflow. Make sure the link is well-established between the two queries and the Union activity.
We will now add a delivery to our workflow. Here you will send an email with a promo code. To do so, select the Deliveries category. Drag and drop the Email delivery activity into your workflow.
Double click the activity. Edit the Label if needed and click Continue. You can personalize your email, for example, add a subject to your email. Click the open icon to open an email template. You can also create it from scratch. Select your template, click Open. If needed, you can add personalization fields. Here, we will add the name of our recipient. To do so, click the Personalization icon. Select Recipient, then First name.
Click Save. Since our workflow will be a cross-delivery, we need to add an outbound transition to the email delivery. To do so, right click on the Email delivery activity. Then, select Open. Place a check mark in the Generate an outbound transition box, then click Ok. To let customers have some time to use the promo code before sending another delivery, we will add a Wait activity. To do so, go to the Deliveries category. Drag and drop a Wait activity. Double click the activity. Edit the duration field. You can also choose seconds, minutes, hours, days or years. By default, the unit will be Day. Click Ok.
Then, we will add a mobile delivery to let the recipients know their promo code is still available. To do so, select the Deliveries category. Then, drag and drop a mobile delivery activity. Double click the activity. Select Delivery template to access your mobile templates. Select a template.
You can edit the Label. Then, click Continue. Edit the message or personalize it, if needed. Then click Save. Save your workflow. Your workflow is now ready. Click the Start icon to launch it. You now know how to create a workflow in Adobe Campaign. Thanks for watching. -
