Updates to the Workfront MCP connector

Connect your AI agentic platform to Workfront with the Workfront MCP server

The new Workfront MCP server connects Workfront to a supported AI agentic platform, such as Claude or ChatGPT, so you can find, create, update, and manage Workfront items through natural-language conversation. Currently available only to customers in the US region using AWS.

View change history for Workfront objects

To make it easier for you to see the changes that have occurred in one central list, we've create the Change History List. This list displays information such as the object, the operation, and the source of the change (such as a user or the Workfront system).

New system preference to convert legacy storage portfolios to Adobe cloud storage

Workfront administrators can now convert legacy storage portfolios to Adobe cloud storage directly from System Preferences. To convert portfolios, select them in the new Select portfolios to convert to enterprise storage field and save the page.

Rich Text replacing Text with Formatting field type

The new Rich text field type in custom forms is a robust text editor, with formatting options such as superscript and subscript, headings, and tables, in addition to the traditional options of bold, italics, underline, bullets, numbering, hyperlinks, and block quotes. The character limit remains 15,000.

Native financial fields supported in custom forms

You can now include Workfront native financial fields in custom forms. Previously, the financial fields were not supported.

Custom forms can be shared system-wide with access to attach

A new sharing option, "Everyone in the system can view and attach," has been added to custom forms. When you select this option, all users system-wide can attach the form to other objects.

New system preference to enforce required fields in bulk edit

A new system preference now allows you to enforce required fields in bulk edit, so that bulk edited objects cannot be saved unless all required fields have values.

Request approval on Adobe Express templates with Workfront and Frame.io

The Adobe Express and Workfront with Frame.io integration brings structured review and approval to content created in Adobe Express. Designers can map a Workfront approval workflow template to an Express template so that, when the template is remixed, an approval is automatically required before publishing—routing the asset through the pre-configured Workfront workflow and Frame.io viewer.

Print summary for documents in the new Documents area

You can now open a printable summary of a document's approval directly from the new Documents area. This feature is available to organizations using Adobe cloud storage.

Add a custom message to a document approval workflow stage

You can now add a custom message to each stage of a document approval workflow. The message appears in the approval email notification and in the Approvals tab in Workfront.

View Experience Manager Assets and approval status badges in the Documents area

Linked assets in the Documents area now display status badges showing whether a file has been sent to Adobe Experience Manager Assets along with its current approval status.

View Adobe cloud storage usage

The Customer Info page in Setup now includes a new Storage Overview section with usage meters for Adobe cloud storage.

Add a rate card to a template

You can now select a rate card to add to a template, which is then automatically attached to all projects created from the template. The rate card becomes the default on the project, but it can be overridden if needed.

Add billing rates in between existing rates on a rate card

You can now adjust the list of effective dated billing rates on a rate card more quickly, by adding a new rate in a specific place in the list. Select the More menu next to an existing rate to insert a row above or below that rate.

Rate attributes cannot be edited once they are used on rates

Once an attribute is added to a rate in Workfront, you can no longer edit that attribute and its filters in the Setup area. This preserves data integrity and prevents rates from being changed accidentally when attributes are updated.

Use custom data and views in Priorities

Priorities now supports the use of custom data in the columns. Open the column manager from the worklist to add custom fields you want to see in your column data.

Canvas Dashboard prompt defaults and user preference persistence

Dashboard managers can now define default prompt values for Canvas dashboards, automatically applied for all viewers. When a user updates prompts, their selections are saved and restored on refresh, reopen, or after navigating to a record and back.

Add multiple Power BI IP address ranges to the Data Connect allowlist at once

Workfront administrators connecting Microsoft Power BI to Workfront Data Connect can now add an entire region's set of Azure IP address ranges to the allowlist in a single step.

Sort the Canvas Dashboards list

You can now sort the Canvas Dashboards list by the Name, Description, Created by, or Create date columns. Click a column header to sort the list by that column, then click the same header again to reverse the sort direction. By default, the list is sorted by Name from A to Z. Your sort order is preserved when you switch between tabs in the Canvas Dashboards list.

Changes to Actual Hours in custom formulas

Existing custom formulas using actualWorkRequired (Legacy Actual Hours) were migrated to use actualWorkRequiredDouble (Actual Hours) instead. actualWorkRequired can no longer be used in calculations and formulas.

Custom currency data fields in Canvas Dashboard reports

Canvas Dashboard reports now support custom currency data fields as columns, filters, groupings, and aggregations, including when multiple exchange rates are configured in System Setup.

Improved data accuracy in Canvas dashboard reports

Canvas dashboard report queries are now structured to prevent duplicate rows when filters or fields cross related records, so counts, sums, and other aggregates return accurate values.

Introducing new request statuses

To get more context about what state your requests are in, we are introducing new statuses for requests: New, On Hold, and Canceled. The "Completed" status has been renamed to "Complete".

Email notifications for comments in the Updates area have a new look and feel that aligns with the broader Adobe email design. The thread of preceding comments is no longer included in the email body.
