Request approval on Adobe Express templates with Workfront and Frame.io
Production fast release: June 15, 2026
Production for everyone: June 15, 2026
[Off schedule]{class="badge neutral"}
The Adobe Express and Workfront with Frame.io integration brings structured review and approval to content created in Adobe Express. Designers can map a Workfront approval workflow template to an Express template so that, when the template is remixed, an approval is automatically required before publishing—routing the asset through the pre-configured Workfront workflow and Frame.io viewer.
With this integration, you can:
- Streamline collaboration between creative, legal, and compliance teams to reduce time-to-publish while maintaining oversight
- Conduct deep reviews using drawing markups, annotations, and comments in the Frame.io viewer
- Meet enterprise compliance standards with electronic signatures and full audit logs
- Require approval on any remixed files from an Express branded template
- Map an Express template to a multi-stage review and approval workflow using unified approval templates in Workfront
- Choose a Workfront project when requesting approval so related assets and proofs stay organized together
For more information, see Get started with the Adobe Express and Workfront with Frame.io integration.
Print summary for documents in the new Documents area
Production fast release: June 11, 2026
Production for everyone: July 16, 2026
You can now open a printable summary of a document’s approval directly from the new Documents area. This feature is available to organizations using Adobe cloud storage.
After a document has an approval, a Print summary option appears in the Document Details panel’s Overview section. Clicking Open Print Summary opens the Frame.io Print Comments page, which shows the asset preview, comments, and approval decisions in a printable format.
For more information, see Document Details overview and Summary for documents overview.
Add a custom message to a document approval workflow stage
Production fast release: June 11, 2026
Production for everyone: July 16, 2026
You can now add a custom message to each stage of a document approval workflow. The message appears in the approval email notification and in the Approvals tab in Workfront.
- Use the same message for every stage, or a different message per stage.
- Messages can include up to 500 characters.
- If you edit a custom message after the approval workflow is created, an updated email notification is sent to all existing participants. If you add a participant later, the custom message is included in their email notification.
This is available in both the legacy documents area (Workfront storage) and the new Documents area (Adobe cloud storage).
For more information, see Create a document approval workflow.
View Experience Manager Assets and approval status badges in the Documents area
Production fast release: May 14, 2026
Production for everyone: July 16, 2026
Linked assets in the Documents area now display status badges that give teams instant visibility into where each asset stands without leaving Workfront. Assets can show:
- A badge indicating whether the file has been sent to Adobe Experience Manager Assets, including a direct link to the asset in Experience Manager
- A badge indicating the asset’s current approval status
For more information about sending assets to Experience Manager Assets, see Use the Adobe Experience Manager with the Frame.io integration.
