Search filters allow you to refine search results based on various parameters such as date, file type, tags, and relevance, enhancing the precision of search queries. Customize search filters AEM Assets can only be mapped to entries in your Searchable Property Index. Ensure that any custom metadata is included before configuring your custom filter experience. Assets view helps customizing search filters to streamline the search process. To customize the AEM Assets custom search filters, execute the following steps:

Navigate to Settings > General Settings > Search.

In the Filters section, you can configure the following:
- Files: Configuring files involve file types, file formats, status of assets, file size, image dimensions, date created, date modified, and so on.
- Folders: Configuring folders involve date created, date discarded, discarded by, and so on.
- Collections: Configuring collections involve collection visibility, collection type, date created, and so on.

You can preview the default Preset Filters form available for File, Folder, or Collections. Whereas, you cannot customize or delete this pre-existing form. Alternatively, to create a customized filters form, click Add new form.
note note NOTE Only one customized filter form can be created per category (File, Folder, or Collection). -
Click Save to save the changes.
Actions on a Configured Form Actions-on-configured-form
You can use the following actions on a configured filters form:

Customize: Click to add or modify the form. You can drop filter elements from the custom filters on the canvas or reorder if needed.

Preview: Click to review the changes.

Set as default: Click to set the selected form as your default.

Delete a form: Click more options
and select Delete a form to delete the selected filters form. -
Edit form labels: Click more options
and add new label and description to your customized filters form.

Custom filters AEM Assets allows you to use a collection of filter elements on your custom search filters canvas. These elements are reconfigurable based on the usability of search property attributes. However, you can customize the filter properties as per your requirements. The following filter elements are available in Assets view:

The preconfigured filters are preset settings that allow you to use them directly on the canvas. However, you can customize the filter properties as per your requirements. The following filters are preconfigured in Assets view:

Each filter element is associated with a set of properties. AEM Assets customize search filters use the following properties in the filter and preconfigured elements:
Delete a filter element delete-a-filter-element
To delete a search filter, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > General Settings.
- Go to the Search tab. Click Customize to configure your search form.
- The Configure Filters form appears. Ensure that you are in Edit mode so that you can make modifications in the template.
- Select the filter element that you want to delete. For example, select Image height.
- Click Delete Category to delete the filter element. The Image height element is removed from the canvas.
- Click Confirm to save the form.
