Add URL permissions
Learn how to establish a connection from your Adobe Campaign instance to an external URL.
Transcript
In this video, I will show you how to establish a connection from your Adobe Campaign Classic instance, to an external URL.
URLs that can be called by Java code from your Campaign instance, for example in workflows, are by default limited to those URLs that the system requires to function properly. Connecting to external URLs is not allowed by default. However, with the control panel, you can establish a list of authorized external URLs that you want your instance to be able to connect to, such as SFTP servers or websites for file or data transfers.
To do this, from the control panel homepage, navigate to the instance settings card. Select the URL permissions tab. On this tab, you will see the list of URLs to which your Campaign instance can connect to. You can see which instance you’re looking at in the top right dropdown. Please note that it does not include the URLs that Campaign requires to run. You cannot manipulate those.
You can search for specific URLs, should the list be too long, and you can also sort by the URL alphabetically.
To add new URLs, click on the add new URL button. Check if you’re adding the URL to the correct instance. You can change it here, as long as it isn’t Adobe Campaign Classic instance. This feature is not supported for Adobe Campaign Standard.
Enter the URL, including the protocol. HTTP, HTTPS, and SFTP protocols are supported.
You can check the status of your job in the job log.
You can see here that entering invalid URLs or protocols will result in errors.
Please also note the slash.star is automatically added at the end of the URL once this has been validated. That way all sub-pages are covered.
Once the URL has been added, it is referenced in the configuration file of the instance and is available to connect.
We recommend that you do not connect your Campaign instance to websites or servers that you do not intend to connect to.
To delete a URL, click the checkbox. You can see that now the delete URL button appears instead of the add URL.
Click that button and confirm.
Once the URL has been deleted, the instance will not be able to call it anymore. We do recommend that you delete any URLs that your company is no longer working with, but be sure to check that the URL is really not being used anymore.
