Auto-populate fields based on applied groupings
Preview: July 10, 2025
Production fast release: August 14, 2025
Production for everyone: October 16, 2025
Now, when you have groupings applied to a table view, adding a record to the table will auto-populate the fields associated with the groupings you add the record to.
If you have multiple groupings applied, the system auto-populates the fields associated with all groupings only when you add the record at the end of the list inside the last grouping criteria.
Prior to this enhancement, you had to manually update the fields associated with groupings.
For information, see Create records.

You can now share a view as well as a record type from the same button on the record type’s page. Prior to this enhancement, you could only share the record type from the Share button on the record type page and a view from the view’s tab.

Updated experience when sharing a request form

- We’ve removed manage and contribute options for users that you share the request form with. Now, added users can only submit the form.
- The public sharing tab now displays the link and expiration date field only after the Create public link option has been enabled.
For more information, see Create and manage a request form in Adobe Workfront Planning.

You can now collapse and expand the groupings in a table view using the following areas:
-
The Grouping box, accessible from the toolbar of the table view
-
A grouping’s header, by right-clicking it
You can collapse or expand either one grouping or all groupings at the same time.
Prior to this enhancement, you could only collapse or expand one grouping at a time, from each grouping header.

New aggregating functionality for formula fields
- Preview: June 26, 2025
- Production for everyone: June 26, 2025
Now, when you connect record types and bring in a formula field as a lookup, you can apply the aggregate functions (SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, etc) depending on the formula field’s format. For example, if the formula field is numeric, you can use functions like SUM or AVG; if the formula field is formatted as text, aggregate functions like SUM will not apply.
Previously, when connecting record types and bringing in lookup fields from the connected records, you could apply aggregate functions only to regular fields, but not to formula fields.
For information, see Formula field overview.

Calculate all dependent formulas at the same time
- Preview: June 12, 2025
- Production fast release: June 12, 2025
- Production for all customers: June 12, 2025
We have introduced an improvement that updates all formula fields dependent upon each other at the same time after a referenced field is updated manually. Formula fields that are 2, 3, or 4 fields away from the field whose value is manually changed and that reference each other will now automatically update at the same time.
Prior to this improvement, only the directly dependent formula fields were updated when the value of a references field was manually updated.

Sharing permissions for record types
- Preview: April 17, 2025
- Production fast release: July 17, 2025
- Production for all customers: July 17, 2025
To better control who can view or manage records in each record type and ensure that only authorized people can manage each record type’s information based on their roles and responsibilities, we have introduced permissions at the record type level.
Prior to this enhancement, you could share only workspaces with others and the permission they were granted to a workspace applied to all the record types in the workspace.
We have introduced the following updates:
- Workspace permissions are automatically shared with all record types in the workspace.
- The level of permissions granted for the workspace displays as Inherited permissions for the record type.
- You cannot share a record type with a higher permission level than users have on the workspace.
- You can disable the inherited permissions on the record type to make it read-only for all people in the workspace. After that, you can add individual people, teams, groups, companies or roles and grant them Contribute permission to the record type.
For more information, see Share record types.
