Customer Journey Analytics Guardrails
This document provides limits for various components of Customer Journey Analytics. Limit types
There are two types of default limits within this document:
Guardrail type
Description
Performance Guardrails (soft limit)
Performance Guardrails are usage limits that relate to the scoping of your use cases. When exceeding performance Guardrails, you may experience performance degradation and latency. Adobe is not responsible for such performance degradation. Customers who consistently exceed a performance Guardrail may elect to license additional capacity to avoid performance degradation.
System-enforced Guardrails (hard limit)
System-enforced Guardrails are enforced by the Customer Journey Analytics UI or API. These are limits that you cannot exceed as the UI and API block you from doing so or return an error.
Some of the features and their associated value for the limit depend on the Customer Journey Analytics Package you are entitled to.

Maximum average number of rows per day in a connection.
Rows per connection per year
Varies by assigned data center (See description for more information)
Performance Guardrail
Row limit per year in a connection. The limits listed below are effective as of January 20, 2026, and may increase over time to allow more rows per connection.
The row limit varies depending your assigned data center, as follows:
- U.S. Azure (default for U.S. customers): Approximately 500 billion (about 42 billion per month)
- U.S. AWS (available by request for U.S. customers): Approximately 30 billion (about 2.5 billion per month)
- Amsterdam: Approximately 200 billion (about 16.5 billion per month)
- All other data centers: 25 billion (about 2 billion per month)
If you expect to exceed these limits and want to avoid performance degredation issues, contact your Adobe account team to discuss alternative configurations.
Organizations may choose their data center when they initially implement AEP+Apps. This decision is typically based on each customer’s own data residency requirements. All AEP+Apps use cases (not just row volumes in Customer Journey Analytics) should be considered when choosing a data center.

Performance Guardrail / System-enforced Guardrail
Average size in kilobytes per row of data ingested into Customer Journey Analytics (soft limit). A static limit for row size is determined by Guardrails for data ingestion in Experience Platform.
