This page provides information about functionality that is included in the Fourth Quarter 2025 release scheduled for October 2025.

The enhancements on this page are available in the Preview environment. This page will be updated with additional enhancements as the Fourth Quarter 2025 release nears its planned Production release.

Updates to the Workfront user profile

We have updated the look and feel of the Workfront user profile to a modern design that is consistent with other areas of Workfront. These updates apply to both an administrator editing a single profile or bulk editing multiple profiles, or a user editing their own profile.

There are some small functionality differences from the current user profile, including:

  • Some check boxes (such as marking the user as active) have changed to toggles or buttons.
  • The "Send work I assign to myself to my Working On tab" option under Preferences was removed because it refers to a deprecated feature.

Add multiple value options from an external API to a custom form

A new field type, Multi-select external lookup, is now available on the custom form designer. When you have data stored on an external system, this field type allows you to load options from an external API and filter based on other field values in the custom form. This is the same as a single-select external lookup.

When the form is added to an object, the values returned from the API appear in a dropdown field and the user can select multiple values.

Unified Approvals Phased Rollout

We are enabling Unified Approvals, previously known as New Document Approvals, in a phased rollout. This functionality will be enabled automatically in your Workfront instance over the next six months.

Unified Approvals replaces Legacy document approvals and provides the new functionality.

New Workfront AI Reviewer

Note: This feature is currently in beta.

The new Workfront AI Reviewer helps ensure image brand compliance by automatically reviewing content against your brand guidelines, starting with image guidelines. It provides a score and actionable feedback to streamline the approval process.

You can add the AI Reviewer to approval templates or individual review and approval requests, enabling faster content production while maintaining brand standards.

New proofing integration for Adobe Express

We are excited to announce a new integration between Adobe Express and Workfront Proof.

  • Streamline collaboration between creative, legal, and compliance teams to reduce time-to-publish while maintaining oversight

New expressions added to formula fields in Planning and calculated custom fields in Workfront

We have added new expressions with the following usage to formula fields in Workfront Planning and to calculated custom fields in Workfront:

  • REMOVEACCENTS(string): Removes diacritical marks from all accented characters in the input string.
  • REPLACEPATTERN(string, pattern, replacement string): Replaces the matches of the given pattern with the replacement string.
  • PASCAL(string): Converts the input string to PascalCase by capitalizing the first letter of each word and removing all spaces.

Workload Balancer is now available on your user profile

All users can now view their own demand and capacity data in the Workload Balancer from their profile, regardless of their access level. When you access your Workfront user profile, the Workload Balancer appears in the left navigation panel.

Workload Balancer data for a user is read-only. You can't assign work, unassign work, or adjust allocations at the user level.

Role assignments display in the Workload Balancer

Resource managers can now review job role assignments in the Workload Balancer. The assignments are displayed in the Unassigned Work area, under the tasks or issues the roles are assigned to. Only work items assigned to users are displayed in the Assigned Work area.

A new Workload Balancer setting, Show Role Assignments, determines whether role assignments are displayed. The setting is enabled by default.

Updates to Requesting experience

To create a better user experience when making requests in Workfront and Workfront Planning, we've updated the requesting experience. Now you can:

  • View Workfront and Workfront Planning requests in a single list.
  • Filter submitted requests based on criteria you specify.
  • Search for and select Workfront request queues and Workfront Planning forms in a consolidated experience.
  • Hide and reorder columns in the submitted requests list.

Minor updates to the look and feel of various areas of the Adobe Workfront application are being made within the Fourth Quarter 2025 release timeframe.

Interface modernization

We are updating the interface throughout Adobe Workfront to improve the user experience and unify it with other Adobe applications. These changes are released outside the standard release schedule. For a list of these changes, see Interface Modernization.

Desktop proofing viewer updates

Version 2.1.52

Production release for all customers: July 31, 2025

The Desktop Proofing Viewer has been updated to version 2.1.52, which addresses bug fixes.

The 2.1.51 update included internal tooling updates and did not impact end-user functionality.

This update is for both Mac and Windows.

Announcements

New version of Workfront for Microsoft Teams

As Microsoft transitions to the New Teams client, the Classic Teams client will no longer be available after July 1, 2025. To continue using Microsoft Teams and integrated apps like Workfront, customers must transition to the New Teams client before this date.

The updated Workfront integration is now available and fully compatible with the New Teams experience. In most cases, Workfront will appear automatically once users have transitioned. If it does not, the integration can be manually installed from the Microsoft Teams App Store. To install or verify the Workfront integration in the New Teams client, see Install Adobe Workfront for Microsoft Teams.

Workfront for Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft is in the process of disabling support for legacy Exchange online tokens, which are currently used by the Workfront Outlook add-in for authentication. This change by Microsoft has already started affecting customers and will continue to roll out in phases through October 2025.

  • After Microsoft fully disables these tokens, the Workfront for Microsoft Outlook integration will no longer function.

As part of this change, Microsoft has made the decision to change the way tokens are re-enabled. After June 30, 2025, admins will no longer be able to re-enable tokens themselves—only Microsoft Support can grant exceptions. On October 1, 2025, legacy tokens will be turned off for all tenants. Exceptions will not be granted.

Other Workfront integration transitions

To deliver more stable and scalable integrations, we’re shifting to a modern, flexible integration approach using Workfront Automation and Integration (Fusion). As part of this transition process, the following integrations will not be available after  February 28, 2026:

  • Workfront for G Suite
  • Workfront for Jira
  • Workfront for Salesforce.

We recommend using Workfront Automation and Integration for your organization’s integration needs with Google Workspace.

API version 20

Workfront API version 20 was released on May 4, 2025. For API version 20, we’ve modified some resources and endpoints. Some of the changes support new functionality, and others make it easier for you to use the information available through the API.
