  • Adobe Experience Manager Asset Selector: Quickly access assets that align with your brand with AEM assets available directly in Marketo Engage. Note: While this feature is available in both our Marketo Sky and classic experiences, the administrative capabilities can be found in our Classic experience. You must be a customer of AEM Assets and have version 6.5 or higher.
NOTE
Currently, AEM Asset Selector is only fully supported in Firefox. It is not supported in Safari, and it may not work in the latest version of Chrome (v. 80), depending on your SameSite cookie settings.
  • Microsoft Dynamics - Sync Lead to CRM in Real Time: Real-time syncing of leads and contacts between Marketo Engage and Microsoft Dynamics. Create leads or contacts and see them in Microsoft Dynamics immediately with the “Sync Person to Microsoft” flow action.
  • LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms Additional Field Mapping: Capture lead data from LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms to create more relevant experiences for both sales and marketing touchpoints. Pull in hidden fields, consent fields, and the test leads field into Marketo Engage.
  • Email Template Dependencies API: Get a list of assets that depend on an email template to understand scope of potential changes and address dependencies to templates can be altered and deleted faster.
  • Multi-Instance Management Enhancements: Navigate to the instance you need quickly with a scrollable and alphabetical drop-down menu of your subscriptions.

Account-Based Marketing

  • New Account Discovery (BETA) (star) : Use Account Profiling to discover net-new target accounts for your ABM strategy based on your AI-powered ideal customer profile model. View, select, and import recommended new accounts, along with their AI-based fit and intent data indicators, that do not already exist inside your Marketo Engage lead and account database for ABM targeting. Immediately available for qualifying Account Profiling customers.

Bizible

  • Marketo Engage Leads Integration: Bring Sales and Marketing together with a unified view of leads across Bizible and Marketo Engage. With this update, Marketo Engage can now be used as an additional lead data source, so you no longer have to wait for leads to sync with the CRM to report on lead generation.
  • Discover Enhancements: Get more from our Discover Boards in Bizible with enhancements developed from customer feedback, like the ability to drill down to transactional records from tiles and attributes, add essential record counts and corresponding cost-per metrics, and add/remove dashboard filters for multiple dashboards. You will also be taken directly to the default dashboard upon login.

Marketo Sky marketo-sky

  • Image Editing: Access Adobe’s editing capabilities without having to leave Marketo Engage. This new functionality allows you to easily do things like enhance, crop, and add text to images directly in Design Studio.

Sales Insight

  • Salesforce Lightning Bulk Actions: Enhance Sales efficiency and keep buyers engaged with the ability to add up to 200 contacts/leads to campaigns and send them Marketo Engage emails in bulk with Salesforce Lightning.
  • Mobile Support for Salesforce1: You now have on-the-go mobile access to all Sales Insight features, like Interesting Moments and Web Activities & Emails, right in the Salesforce1 app.
  • UI Enhancements: Updated interface with enhancements to readability and a design consistent with our Marketo Sky experience.

Sales Connect

  • Grid Components: Optimize your Sales Connect instance with new grid customization functionalities. Choose which columns to display, search for columns, select/deselect all columns, and determine how many rows of data you want to see on each page.
  • Content Lockdown: Maximize brand alignment with a subscription-wide setting that controls whether non-admins have the ability to create and edit templates and campaigns.
NOTE
  • TLS 1.0 & 1.1 Deprecation: In a continued effort to integrate with Adobe’s release structure, we are shifting the deprecation of TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 to January 13, 2020. More detailed information can be found here.

  • ITP 2.1+ Munchkin Update: Due to changes to the cookie policy for Safari, Munchkin’s ability to track users across sessions on the same domain will be limited by ITP to either 1 or 7 days based on the browser and browser version used by the visitor. To account for this, we are implementing a new web service to allow Munchkin cookies to be set with a Set-Cookie header via HTTP response. Core Marketo Engage

  • Microsoft Dynamics “Change Owner in Microsoft” Flow Action: Maintain control of your Microsoft Dynamics CRM data with the ability to change a lead/contact owner directly from Marketo Engage. This is an enhancement to our Native CRM Integration capability.
  • User Management APIs: Automate User and Role management through external identity and org management systems. This is an enhancement to our API Calls capability.
  • Custom Object Schema APIs: Automatically manage and provision custom object schemas across instances in Marketo Engage to keep data models consistent across your sales and marketing tools. With this API, you can define and test custom objects in a sandbox or center-of excellence and provision to as many instances as needed. This is an enhancement to our APIs Calls capability. Please contact your Marketo Engage representative to learn how to get access to this enhancement.
  • Landing Page Redirect Rules APIs: Automate management of landing page redirect rules. This is an enhancement to our API Calls capability.
  • Form Descriptor Caching: We are reducing the load time of embedded forms and enhancing overall application stability by caching forms as resources. Please note that approvals made to embedded forms may take up to four minutes to reflect on the web. This is an enhancement to our Landing Pages & Forms capability.

  • Account-Based Segmentation: Analyze attribution at the Account level with the ability to create segments and filters for Discover boards based on Account attributes. Use these segments to drill down into your account-based marketing performance.
  • Saving Filters: Save dashboard-specific filters unique to each user to analyze your dashboards quickly and consistently.
  • Export to PDF: Share valuable insights across your organization by exporting Bizible Dashboards as PDFs.

Sales Connect

  • Compose Window Updates: We’ve streamlined the process for selecting templates and sending emails through Sales Connect. Use the Compose window in our web client and Salesforce as a one-stop shop for sellers, with the ability to save template categories, schedule emails, send emails in bulk, and send emails with view and click tracking.
  • Command Center Updates: We’re rebuilding the Sales Connect Command Center to give sellers insight into all of their Emails, Calls, and Tasks that have been initiated from Sales Connect. They can also view information like email engagement and deliverability all from the Command Center.

Announcements

  • Marketo Engage Success Center: We’re launching the Marketo Success Center in February 2020. The Success Center is an in-product help center that enables you to search Product Docs and the Community, launch how-to guides, access adoption content such as Marketo University and peer best practice videos, and more - right from your Marketo Engage instance. Note: This feature will be launched as a beta in ANZ, and will roll out to North America later in the quarter.

Deprecations

  • Asset API “_method” Parameter: After September 2020, Asset API Endpoints will no longer accept “_method” to pass Query Parameters in a POST body to bypass URI length limitations. To accommodate requests which required this parameter, the URI limit for Asset APIs will be increased from 6KiB to 65KiB, so that long request URIs may be submitted.
  • Internet Explorer Support Deprecation: Beginning with our July release on July 31, 2020, the Marketo Engage user interface will no longer be supported on Internet Explorer.

  • Predictive Audiences (star) : New Smart List and Smart Campaign filters powered by Adobe AI allow you to create AI-powered audience segments for email, event, and webinar marketing programs. Use AI to help you segment audiences based on lead likelihood to register for an event, attend an event, or unsubscribe. Build lookalike audiences based on past programs to efficiently replicate previous success. Achieve conversion goals with predictive goal-tracking and get recommendations for how to refine your audience segments for event programs.
  • Batch Email Boost (star) : Enhancement to our email marketing capability that allows you to send up to 3 million batch emails per hour. We have re-architected our batch campaign and email report processing to enhance performance of email programs and batch email campaigns. This results in shorter lead time to send, as well as improved completion time. Set up your email sends as you normally would, there is no added complexity. This enhancement is available as a product add-on which also includes a Delivery Services Launch Pack, Email Delivery Tools, and multiple Dedicated IP addresses.
  • Audience Integration with Adobe Experience Cloud (AEC): New Adobe Experience Cloud (AEC) integration that allows you to sync static lists of known leads from Marketo Engage with multiple AEC applications to enhance existing programs, unlock new use cases, and orchestrate multi-channel campaigns. This integration includes Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Audience Manager and Adobe Advertising Cloud.
  • Program Member Custom Fields: Capture and utilize custom fields about a program member. Use these new fields in your Marketo Engage forms, view them in a program’s member list, leverage them in Smart List filters and triggers, and include them in a new Smart Campaign Flow Action for enhanced automation and more granular personalization. These can also be imported and exported via the UI and APIs. Enhancement to our custom data objects and fields capability.
  • Describe Program Member: Retrieve Program Member metadata, giving you the ability to import and export Program Member Custom Field data using REST API. Enhancement to our API.
  • Create Task in Microsoft Dynamics: Create tasks for Sales inside Microsoft Dynamics using a new Flow Action based on customer behavior captured in Marketo Engage. Enhancement to our native Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration.
  • Get Form Used By List Asset API Endpoint: Retrieve a list of assets that depend on a form. Enhancement to our API.
  • Set Email Preheader via API: Enable the automatic translation and localization of email preheader fields. Enhancement to our API.
  • Image and Files Caching: We are enhancing the Marketo Engage server stability by serving Image and File assets from a 60-second cache.

Account-Based Marketing

  • Marketo Engage Activities Integration (BETA): Bring Marketo Engage activity data directly into Bizible to create touchpoints across the customer journey and all attribution models. Examples include lead score changes, interesting moments, email click, or any custom activities. Enhancement to our Marketo Engage integration.
  • Bizible B2B Customer Attributes Integration (BETA): This is an Adobe Experience Cloud integration with Adobe Analytics that allows you to bring select Bizible data directly into Adobe Analytics for more in-depth analysis. Examples include account-based site traffic and content analysis by company name, account attributes, CRM opportunities, and high-value individuals as defined by Bizible attributed revenue and funnel stage.
  • Bizible Discover Filters and Enhancements: Analyze your data with channel, subchannel, campaign, and segment filters across dashboards. Strengthen data visibility with more drill-down attributes. This is an enhancement to our Discover Boards.
  • Activities Sync for Microsoft Dynamics: Attribute sales interactions by bringing in Microsoft Dynamics CRM activities to the touchpoint journey and track events such as calls, appointments, or tasks associated with your leads or contacts. Enhancement to our Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration.

Sales Insight

  • Insights Dashboard for Salesforce CRM: We’re reimagining our Sales Insight capability with new visibility into upcoming marketing events and campaigns to give sellers the ability to make recommendations more relevant to customers and prospects based on their needs and interests. Sellers can also view both Contact and Account Activity within the timeline and easily access additional activity details. Find more details on how to upgrade your package here.

Announcements

  • Batch Campaign Infrastructure Changes: We are upgrading our batch campaign services throughout the remainder of this year. This will be a seamless update that will not affect any batch campaigns that are in progress and will not result in a change of behavior. No action is required. Deprecations

  • Munchkin Associate Lead: Beginning with the version 159 release of Munchkin JS, a deprecation warning will be logged in the browser console when the Associate Lead method is invoked, indicating that the feature will be removed in a future release. The full deprecation schedule will be announced at a later date.

  • “Used By” Export in Field Management: Admins can now export all “Used By” asset links for a selected field into a CSV file. This enhancement can aid both admins and non-admins in cleaning up unused fields. Additionally, assets can now be opened in a new browser tab or window.

Account-Based Marketing

  • Updated UI for Account Profiling: Simplify the creation of your target account list in Account Profiling with streamlined steps all in a single screen.

  • Forms Service: We are introducing stronger form field syntax validation and the ability to block common bot patterns with new Secured Domains for Landing Pages capabilities. Blocking bot patterns can reduce spam form submissions and improve your database quality.
NOTE
Full rollout of enhanced form field syntax validation has been postponed until after our Jan 2021 release.
  • Increased Asset API URI Size Limit: The uniform resource identifier (URI) size limit is being increased from 8KB to 65KB in advance of the removal of “_method” parameter. When performing long query strings, this size limit increase will allow the data to to pass more easily. The removal of the “_method” parameter is part of an upcoming security upgrade.

  • Munchkin Associate Lead: With this release of the Munchkin JavaScript Client, version 159, we will begin deprecation of the Munchkin Associate Lead method. If invoked, you will receive a warning indicating that the method will be removed in a future release. Once removed, the method will no longer be functional and attempts to use it will fail. Marketo Engage customers who have used this method recently will be notified individually of their use.
  • Support for Internet Explorer: As previously announced, Marketo Engage support for Internet Explorer 11 ends on July 31, 2020. We will continue to support Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
  • Sky Default Experience: The option for admins or users to set Marketo Sky as the default experience will be removed in this release in preparation for an update to the primary user experience. More details on the update to the primary experience, scheduled for later this year, will be available in July. Users who have set Marketo Sky as their default experience, or have been granted access to Marketo Sky, can continue to access Marketo Sky from a tile on the My Marketo home page.
  • EdgeHTML (non-Chromium) Microsoft Edge support: Marketo Engage will no longer support EdgeHTML versions of Microsoft Edge at the end of 2020. Beginning January 1, 2021, we will only support the latest Chromium version of Microsoft Edge.

Note: this is available only to Target Account Management customers who have been onboarded to the next-generation user experience.

  • Batch Email Boost (star) : Send more emails with an increased throughput of up to 5 million batch emails per hour. Expansive email deliverability options eliminates the need to wait between email batches - send all emails on time and on your schedule.

  • Embed Form Code Automation: Acquire more leads with Marketo Engage forms embedded in your secured landing pages hosted outside of Marketo. The form embed code automatically updates to include the landing page domain name and eliminates manual work for web developers. Custom domain in the code link improves website navigation experiences and forms utilization.

  • Continuous Audience Sync from Adobe Experience Cloud to Marketo Engage: Target leads with Marketo Engage based on first-party intent data from Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager, or Adobe Real-Time CDP. Automatically update Marketo Engage static lists via continuous sync, add leads to engagement or email programs, and alert Sales when leads are ready.

  • Salesforce CRM Sync: Identify and fix sync errors and failures with two new Salesforce Sync and Errors Dashboards. Monitor new record updates, deletions, fails, and completion of the syncing process. Reports can be filtered by date, operation type, or object type.

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Integration: Automate enrollment of leads and contacts into Microsoft Dynamics 365 campaigns. Easily add or remove Marketo Engage Leads and Contacts to MS Dynamics Campaigns with new smart campaign flow actions. Seamlessly pass leads from Marketing to Sales and close deals faster.

  • Facebook Lead Ads Integrations: Facebook form tracking parameters can now be captured through the LaunchPoint service for Facebook lead ads. These hidden fields can now be mapped to Marketo fields, allowing marketers to store and act on valuable campaign tracking data.

Administration

  • Export Roles and Permissions: Export roles and permissions into spreadsheets for easy sharing across teams in your organization. Perform roles and permissions audits easier and faster.

  • Enhanced Audit Trail: With new audit trail entries, get more granular visibility into changes made to emails and landing pages by your marketing team. Capture changes made to each module in the body of an email and track edits to rich text elements, status changes, additions, and removal of forms and images.

  • Field Management: Find API field names easily with the new metadata entry feature on the field record – no need to export all fields into spreadsheets to find out the field name. Build integrations with apps from LaunchPoint, connect databases, or use our open APIs in any way that fits your organization.

  • New Metadata Export Options: Export custom object metadata for selected custom objects into a spreadsheet for easy sharing. In addition, any or all subscription objects’ metadata can be exported, such as lead, company, standard and custom activities, tags, and channels. Data can be extracted by admins and quickly shared with engineering teams for analysis and design purposes.

  • Opportunity Custom Field: Gain more insight into opportunity records with opportunity custom fields display in Marketo Engage. View opportunity custom fields data from Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Sales native integrations, or via other API integrations. Having full visibility into opportunity details and pipeline enables you to orchestrate engagement in coordination with Sales, increase conversions, and help close deals faster.

  • API Optimization and New Governance Configuration Options: Improve the Sales Insight user experience through enhanced API optimization and added governance features. Configuration settings enable admins to define how campaigns and events are loaded to the Sales Insight dashboard. Flexible calendar activities display options reduce API usage and improve the overall experience.

Announcements & Deprecations

  • New Marketo Engage Look: New versions of line, bar, column, and pie charts provide updated visualizations throughout Marketo Engage, including Marketing Activities and all reporting features as well as data visualization that appears in the Marketing Activities. This update is in response to Adobe Flash reaching its end-of-life on December 31st, 2020.

  • Updates to User Roles and Permissions: The Advanced List Import permission will be deprecated in the upcoming release to simplify roles and permissions management. The existing List Import permissions in Marketing Activities and Lead Database enable necessary list import options in their respective app areas.

  • Field Management: A restriction to synchronous changes to custom field type in Marketo Engage is introduced to increase our infrastructure security. When making changes to multiple field types, the first field changes must be completed before moving to the next field. This new process ensures a more stable environment and minimizes change type operation failure risks.
