Hi, I’m Travis Jordan on the Journey Optimizer product team. In this video, I’m going to highlight a new beta release that enables customers to configure custom providers to easily send messages such as SMS and MMS natively in AJO. Today, customers are limited to three providers to send SMS messages in Journey Optimizer. This includes Synch, Infobip, and other providers outside of these three to send messages. Historically, to help solve this problem, customers have been able to use custom actions. However, this implementation method is limited to journeys only and does not enable out of the box channel capabilities. The new bring your own provider feature in beta unlocks the ability for customers to set up a custom or commercial provider outside of our default providers. Once configured, customers can now leverage all of the out of the box channel capabilities such as message authoring, personalization, reporting, link tracking, and much more in both journeys and campaigns. Now let’s jump over to Adobe Journey Optimizer and look at how this is set up by the customer to deliver messages in journeys and campaigns. First, let’s go to channels in the left navigation menu. Under SMS configuration, click API credentials, then create API credential. Now select the custom beta provider under SMS vendor. This is where the customer adds the necessary credentials such as the API URL, token, payload, and authentication type to connect to this custom provider. The customer clicks submit. After completed, the customer creates a channel surface and selects the API configuration that was just created. And then click submit. For this example, I will just show you how this is done in journeys. The customer will first add the SMS action to the journey canvas. The marketer selects the channel surface referencing the API credential. They then go on to create the content for the message. At this point, the customer can leverage the full channel features including message authoring, personalization, link tracking, reporting in both journeys and campaigns. This concludes the demo on bring your own provider beta in Journey Optimizer. Thank you. If you have any questions about joining the beta program, please reach out to your Adobe representative.
