Smart Tag Enhancements generate tags in Production and Stage environments for AEM as a Cloud Service

This article describes how to disable Smart Tag Enhancements in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEM as a Cloud Service) Production and Stage environments to isolate Smart Tag training and limit its impact to Development. Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to disable Smart Tag Enhancements in the desired environment:

  1. Assess which environments (Production, Stage, Development) require Smart Tag Enhancements to be enabled or disabled based on your business needs.

  2. Log in to the AEM Assets UI as an authorized administrator.

  3. Navigate to the Smart Tag configuration settings.

  4. Disable Smart Tag Enhancements in the desired environment (Production and/or Stage).

    Note: No backend configuration or code changes are required because you manage this setting entirely through the UI.

  5. Verify that newly uploaded assets in environments where Smart Tag Enhancements are disabled do not receive Smart Tags or AI-generated metadata. Existing assets and their Smart Tags or metadata remain available and are not removed.
