Add bullet graph visualizations to Analysis Workspace projects in Customer Journey Analytics
Learn how bullet graphs are used and how to add them to Analysis Workspace projects in Customer Journey Analytics. This graph shows you how a value of interest compares to or measures against goals.
Hey everybody, it’s Doug. In this video I want to show you how to add and to configure a bullet visualization. So I’ve got a revenue table here with kind of daily numbers. It is this month’s revenue. As you can see, it’s this month here for my time period and we are about halfway through the month as you can see here. We’ve still got half a month left and we have the total revenue so far, etc. So I’m gonna add a bullet visualization. I’m gonna bring it in and drop it right on top of that. And if you just look at it now, it looks like it’s just basically a horizontal bar graph. And I guess if you don’t configure it, then that’s really kind of what it is. And you can see the total here 106 and that’s of course showing here is a hundred million there. And so what we want to do though with a bullet visualization and the reason why we actually put it in here has everything to do with the settings. So I’m gonna go in there and you’ll see here that we have high, mid and low goals. So a bullet visualization is there to track our progress towards our goals.
So let’s say that our mid-range goal, at least what we want to get on a normal month is 200 million. So like that. You can see it’s starting to build that out behind me. And if we have a really good month, then maybe it’s let’s say 230 million. And if it’s not a good month, we at least have to have say 180.
All right. So there we have our goals and we can just click out of that. And now we can see a number of things. First of all, we see our goals because here is our low goal at 180. Here’s our mid goal at 200 and our high goal up at 240. And so we also then see now this horizontal bar looking graph, but it is now at the level according to our goals, right? So we have our goals up here now. We’re at 106. And now we can track our progress towards these goals. We can come and look at this every day or every week. And as we go through the month, we can see where we are with this bullet visualization. In these kinds of situations, you might not even need the table there, right? So I can always go up to bullet here and I can uncheck the show data source and that takes the table away. And now I just have that as my visualization. But you’re probably going to want to put something that makes sense here. Maybe it is this month’s revenue goals. Now, in addition to that, if you want to kind of give people more of an idea about these goals, you can always add a description or edit the description there and then say something, you know, in here like dark gray equals low goal. Medium gray is mid goal and light gray is high goal. So, you know, put in there whatever you think will help your analysts and we’ll accept that. And now you’ve got a little bit more information there. In any case, hope this helps you to be able to have a visualization that can help you track towards goals, whether that’s revenue, whether that’s subscriptions or whatever your conversions are on your site. Again, this is a great way to track that. Good luck.
