This page provides information about functionality that is included in the Fourth Quarter 2023 release. These enhancements will be included in the following releases:

Off-cycle features (those releasing to Production prior to the Fourth Quarter 2023 release date) are highlighted in yellow.
The 23.3 release included the option to move your organization to monthly releases. Therefore, Workfront is changing the numbering scheme of releases to account for both monthly and quarterly release tracks.
Quarterly releases will include functionality from three monthly releases. For example, the 23.10 quarterly release will include functionality released in the 23.8, 23.9, and 23.10 monthly releases.
Monthly and quarterly releases are planned to be available on the last Thursday of the month.

Add value options from an external API to a custom form New in Preview!
A new field type, External lookup, is now available on the custom form designer. When you have data stored on an external system, this field type allows you to load options from an external API and filter based on other field values in the custom form. |

Add documents on connected cards You can now attach documents on connected cards on Adobe Workfront Boards. Any documents you add on the card become available on the Documents tab of the connected task or issue, and the same file types are supported in both areas. |

Documents available on connected cards as view-only For connected cards on Adobe Workfront Boards, you can now view documents such as images and PDFs. You can either preview a document in the browser or download it to your computer. |

Updated design when adding a new issue to a project
This update has been announced with the 23.3 release. We have updated the New Issue box which displays when submitting a new issue to a project. Now, the interface matches the New request box which displays when submitting a new request to a request queue. |

Dynamic re-calculation of calculated fields on forms
Calculated fields on a form attached to an object are now dynamically re-calculated in real time when dependent values on any form on the page are modified. This allows you to see the updated results without saving the form. |

Set planned hours on child recurring tasks with Simple duration type without assignments
We have made a change in the way Planned Hours are allocated to recurring tasks with no assignments and a Simple duration type. Now, when you set Planned Hours on a new recurring task with a Simple Duration Type and no assignments, the hours are also allocated to the individual recurrences. Prior to this change, the hours were not saved for individual recurrences when the parent tasks were unassigned. |

New filter options for New Home
New filter options are now available for the My Work widget in New Home. Options include filters for object types (tasks, issues, and requests) and statuses (not ready, ready to start, working on, and completed). |

Custom terminology support for New Home
To better meet the unique needs of organizations, New Home now utilizes custom terminology for objects as defined in an instance's layout templates. For example, if "Project" objects have been relabeled as "Campaigns" in your Workfront instance, the My Projects widget will instead display as My Campaigns in New Home. |

Try New Home button removed for accounts that have disabled New Home
The Try New Home button is no longer present for accounts where New Home has been disabled. New Home must be re-enabled by the system administrator before individual users can use the button to try New Home. |

Change to New Home default widget set
The To-dos widget, which requires permission to create tasks, is now only present in the default widget set for users with the Standard, Plan, or Work license types. Additionally, the widget has been automatically removed from the Home pages of users with all other license types. |

The following functionality is soon to be removed from Workfront:
We will be officially deprecating the Proof mobile app with the 23.10 release. The general Workfront mobile app has been enhanced with new proofing functionality (see the release note under Workfront Mobile enhancements for more information), and users are advised to begin using it for proofing work as soon as possible.
Note that the Workfront mobile app requires a Workfront login. External users and guests can continue to use the Proof app for proofing work; however, it is no longer supported and will become unavailable with 23.10.
