You can prioritize your projects and ensure that they are aligned with your business goals and requirements using the Portfolio Management tools in Workfront.

Project Portfolio Management starts with a project request. In this phase, a project owner creates a project request and submits it for review to an executive committee or the Portfolio Manager. This is when they complete the Business Case of the project and then submit it for approval.

After you submit the project request, the Portfolio Manager or an executive team reviews it, and decides whether to approve them. If they are approved, they will be selected for a company Project Portfolio.
After adding all the projects to the portfolio, the Portfolio Manager optimizes and prioritizes them according to their value, alignment, and benefit to the organization.

Along with optimizing the performance of the portfolio and prioritizing the project, the Resource Manager ensures that proper resources are allocated to the projects. They assess the availability and allocation of the resources using the Resource Management tools available in Workfront.
Depending on the availability of the resources, the Portfolio Manager might need to re-prioritize the projects.

After receiving the project approval from the Portfolio Manager and the validation of the resources from the Resource Manager, as the Project Owner, you can place the project in the status of Current and your users can start the work to complete the project. It is recommended to capture a baseline of the project in this phase, to have a reference point for the project, in its original state.
After the completion of the projects in the portfolio, you can review the success of each project by creating a baseline and comparing it to the original baseline.
