Search Engine Optimization (SEO): A mix of strategies and techniques used to increase site traffic by obtaining a high-ranking placement in search engine results pages (SERP).
Keyword: A keyword is the word or phrase that people type into a search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing.
Inbound Links: Links on other sites directing traffic to your site. The higher the reputation of the linking site, the more valuable this inbound link is.
SERP ranking: Stands for Search Engine Result Page. Search engines return multiple pages of results. The SERP ranking is the page your link appears. Typically there are 10 results per page.
Search Engine View: The way a search engine computer perceives your site as opposed to the way a human being does.
Fat Head Search Terms: Generic keywords that cast a very large net. They account for about 19% of all search terms used.

Chunky Middle Search Terms: More specific keywords. These account for about 11% of all search terms used.
(Example: Running Shoes)
Long Tail Search Terms: Super specific keywords. These are used about 70% of the time.
(Example: Minimalist womens running shoes size 9)
Optimization Score: The Optimization Score is a proprietary Marketo score which measures all the pages on your site on a scale of 1 to 100. It is based on a compilation of dozens of best practices. A score of 70 or higher indicates a site that is quite well-optimized.
On-Page Optimization: Measures that can be taken directly within your website itself to improve its position in the search engine results pages.

Off-Page Optimization: Measures that can be taken outside of the actual website in order to improve its position in search rankings.
(Example: Increasing the number of inbound links from high-quality and reputable sites)
