Create subtasks from the task Subtasks section

NOTE
Your Workfront or group administrator might remove the Subtasks section in your environment using a layout template.
  1. Go to the project where you want to create subtasks.

  2. Click the Tasks section in the left panel.

  3. Click the name of the task where you want to create a subtask.

  4. Click the Subtasks section in the left panel, if present.

  5. Click New Task.

  6. Click Create task.

Make a subtask a main task

  1. Go to the project where you want to make a subtask a main task.

  2. Click the Tasks section in the left panel.

  3. Select the subtask that you want to make a main task.

  4. Click the Outdent icon to make the subtask a main task.

    Or

    On a standard English QWERTY keyboard, press Option + < (Mac) or Alt + < (Windows). Other languages might use the commands Option + . (Mac) or Alt + . (Windows) to outdent.

    NOTE
    You can outdent tasks only when the list of tasks is sorted by Task Number and when there are no groupings applied to the task list.
