The Adobe Ideation space is Adobe’s AI-powered strategic ideation capability, built directly into Workfront Planning. It gives marketing teams a structured, data-informed starting point for campaign strategy, replacing manual research and guesswork with AI-generated briefs grounded in an organization’s real performance history.

Accessible only from Workfront Planning, the Ideation space is located at the very front of the campaign lifecycle, before planning, production, and delivery, and feeding directly into the Workfront Planning workspace where teams plan and execute their work.

Audience and use cases

The Ideation space is designed for product and brand marketers who are responsible for shaping campaign strategy and producing campaign briefs.

As a workspace manager, you can use the Ideation space to create records in Workfront Planning by following the following steps:

  • Create a brief in the Ideation space after launching it from Planning, as you start creating or editing records.
  • Use AI prompts to gather details from other records in your system or from the web and finish creating ideation briefs.
  • Create Planning record types from the briefs.
  • Refine your ideation briefs and update existing record types in Planning.

The following are use cases for how to use Ideation space:

  • Refresh a previous campaign using historical performance

    • For example, you can update existing campaigns for a new quarter, season, or product moment.
    • This produces a “delta brief” grounded in prior performance outlining what stays, what changes, and why.
  • Create a net-new campaign using historical performance

    • For example, you can create a campaign when launching a new product, segment, or initiative with no direct campaign history.
    • This produces a net-new brief through guided ideation, a recommended channel mix, and initial concept or message directions.

Ideation space overview

The Ideation space is a strategic marketing ideation tool for brand and product marketers to build stronger campaigns faster and with better team alignment. It grounds AI suggestions in real-marketing context — past briefs, performance data, audience insights, brand guidelines, and existing campaign assets — so results are relevant, not generic.

The following are some examples of how to make the most out of your ideation when creating briefs:

  • Upload documents or social listening insights

  • Access web content pertinent to the brief you are building

  • Define a campaign goal

  • Get a summary of audience insights

  • Generate audience personas

  • Ideate campaign messaging

  • Work in a large visual canvas, using AI prompts to generate text, image, file, chart, and insight cards

  • Organize, revise, and expand cards to eventually translate them into campaign briefs

  • Collaborate with multiple users who can add ideas, leave comments on specific canvas items, or use sticky notes for freeform ideas before a brief is finalized

  • We recommend the following best practices when using the Ideation space:

    • Be specific. Richer campaign descriptions produce more relevant, better-grounded cards.
    • Verify before finalizing. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, so always check Sources on a card and confirm against linked sources before finalizing a record.
    • Mix AI cards with real records. Drag and drop actual records in the Ideation space.

Ideation space available in the Adobe CX Coworker

The Ideation space also supports a conversational, back-and-forth mode via Adobe’s CX Coworker.

Users can ask follow-up questions and refine a brief conversationally rather than getting a single one-shot result.

When a brief is tied to a live Workfront Planning connection, Coworker holds back from overwriting it so the underlying plan stays intact.
