Quick Start Email Template

Some of the starter programs in the Marketo Engage Reference Library contain a simple, easy to use, and customizable email template that allows for the quick creation of emails across a number of marketing use cases.

The Marketo Engage email editor comes equipped with features that help you change the layout and edit the content of your emails.

  • Modules: Draggable/droppable content blocks that are coded into the template. They can be reorganized and duplicated.

  • Text Elements: You can use the editor to update copy, change font styles, or add links.

  • Image Elements: Similar to text elements, images can be swapped out, linked to, and resized.

  • Variables: When a module is selected, variables appear on the right side of the editor. These can be used to adjust attributes of the module that aren’t easily editable via image or text elements.

Logo Module

  • Includes an image element to update the logo

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • Alignment of logo

Image Module

  • Includes an image element to update the image

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module

Headline Module

  • Includes a text element to update the headline

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • Font size of headline (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Font color of headline (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Alignment of the headline text (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)

Subheadline Module

  • Includes a text element to update the subheadline

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • Font size of subheadline (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Font color of subheadline (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Alignment of the subheadline text (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)

Free Text Module

  • Includes a text element to update the text

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • Font size of text (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Font color of text (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)
    • Alignment of the text (this can also be edited in the rich text editor)

CTA Module

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • CTA text color
    • CTA background color
    • CTA border color
    • CTA border radius (to make the buttons rounded - Note: this feature does not work in Microsoft Outlook email clients)
    • CTA URL
    • CTA text
    • CTA alignment

Divider Module

  • Includes variables to control:

    • Top padding of module
    • Bottom padding of module
    • Background color of module
    • Divider color
    • Divider height (in pixels)
    • Divider width (as a %)
