Content decision activity in the journey canvas

Hello everyone. In this demo, I’ll provide a walkthrough of the content decision activity available in the Journey Canvas. This activity allows Journey practitioners to retrieve offers from AGO decisioning and use them in the context of a journey. They can be used in journey activities, for example in conditions to route profiles into different branches based on the offers retrieved or in custom actions to send those offers to external systems. For example, I have the following journey that I want to trigger as soon as a profile opens an account. I would like to send summer drink promotions personalized for each profile to an external system. To do this, I will open the orchestration section and look for content decision activity. After dropping it in the canvas, I will be able to add a decision policy, allowing me to define how I want offers to be retrieved. For my example, I will define that I only want to retrieve one offer for each profile. I then will define a simple strategy sequence based on only one selection strategy. This strategy will provide the best summer promotion on drinks for my profile. I will not select a fallback item for this example and go directly to the last screen. After saving this decision policy, I will add a custom action to retrieve the output of the content decision activity. In my example, I will use a custom action sending data to Slack. On this custom action, I will select the request parameters I want to map to my offer. Output of content decision activities is only accessible in the advanced mode. Through the context, I can locate my content decision activity and browse my offer schema. I can then select the product code and save this custom action. When the journey will be set live, any profile entering it will go through this content decision activity, retrieve the best summer promotion on drinks for them, and then send a custom action with the product code from that offer.
