Double opt-in for Sinch and Infobip
Learn how to configure double opt-in for SMS.
Transcript
Hello, this is Mike Maffeo, Product Manager for AGO, here to talk to you about the double opt-in feature for SMS. We’re going to start in the SMS configuration settings. This is where you set up your SMS channel. In here, you’re able to add in double opt-in keywords, a double opt-in message that you want to send to the customers, as well as an opt-out message that will be sent as well. As we look at the double opt-in keyword section, this is where you would put the keywords that you want to listen to. In this example, we have three keywords, join, subscribe, me, newsletter, all separated by a comma. All of these are valid. We also have the double opt-in message. This is what the users are going to see once they send that keyword to the phone number. In this example, we’re asking them to confirm their double opt-in status by replying to this code with yes. That essentially is the double opt-in. Another addition to this feature is the opt-out message. This is what’s going to be sent back to the user once they’ve opted out of any SMS. Now let’s take a look at what it’s going to show on the handset. In this example, I’m going to send join to the phone number. This is going to go back to AJO and AJO is going to respond with the return message that we configured. I’m going to then reply back with yes. At this point, I am now opted in to receiving SMS messages. This is a really great way to acquire customers and stay within legal compliance with the marketing consent regulations that are found in the SMS channel. This feature is available for the Synch and the Infobit platforms. For our customers that have brand new users and are entering through this channel, that profile is going to be created automatically as part of this process.
