Transcript
In this video, we’ll show you how to preview and proof emails in Adobe Journey Optimizer. First, we’re going to learn about the Email Rendering functionality that allows you to test your email across multiple inboxes. Then we’re going to use the Preview functionality to preview our personalized email against test profiles. Finally, we’re going to send email proofs to validate the result directly in our inbox.
Within the Email Designer, we’ll click Simulate Content, which gives us access to the Preview functionality.
And we’ll see that the first thing we need to do is to select some test profiles. Once you do this for the first time, it’s saved for you. If you don’t know how to create a test profile, please review the documentation.
Once these test profiles are set, this will be the data that will be used for the testing. Let’s switch over to Email Rendering. To provide this email rendering functionality, Adobe has created an out-of-the-box integration with Litmus, which is a leader in email previews. To use this functionality, you will need to have an account directly with Litmus. You always have the option to try it out with the 7-day trial, otherwise you can just connect with your accounts. So let me just connect… and once that’s done, I can immediately see my previous email renderings across multiple email clients. If you can’t see the email accounts, you can run the test directly with this call-to-action. Here we can see that in a matter of seconds, we have dozens of previews that are being done, and we can quickly access them to see the result of the email on each inbox. We can also do a comparison view, and there are a lot of features here that allow you to quickly jump between these previews and make sure that your email looks consistently good across platforms.
Once we’re happy with what we see in the Email Rendering view, we’ll go back into the preview. The preview is a personalized version of the email based on a test profile. So we can see here the customer’s first name, for example, that was there in the subject line, but also in the body of the email. If we’re happy with this personalized preview, we can then send a proof as the final test for our email. Sending the proof is easy. Here we can directly enter the emails that we want to send the proof to. If you have different offers or content in the email, you can add a prefix to the subject line to directly recognize which proof this is. So let’s just send this proof. In a few seconds, the proof will be delivered, and we can quickly jump into our email inbox to open it. So, with just a few simple steps, you can very quickly test your email personalization using real-world clients. You can also view pass proofs and review their KPIs. Clicking out of the Preview Email section, you’ll be able to save your email. So, in this video, we’ve seen how we can test email messages by rendering them using our litmus integration. We also covered how to preview your emails against test profiles to assess how content is being personalized, and how to send proofs to verify quality using real-world clients. Thanks for watching.
