Creating email channel configuration

Transcript
Configuring the email channel in Adobe Journey Optimizer is an essential step for sending personalized email messages. It ensures that your campaigns or journey are linked to a valid sending domain and comply with email delivery standards. To create new email channel configuration, navigate to Channels under Administration and click on Create Channel Configuration. Provide a meaningful name to the configuration. Select email from the channel drop-down list and set the email type as Marketing. Specify the rest of the settings as per your requirements. When the execution dimension is set to Profile, AGO ensures that only one message is sent per individual profile. The execution address specifies the field in the profile schema that contains the delivery address. In this case, the email field underscore techmarketingdemos.email. This ensures that each message is correctly routed to the intended recipient’s email address. Review the email channel configuration and then click on Submit button to complete the process of channel creation.

Create a journey

An Adobe Journey Optimizer journey defines the steps a customer moves through after a trigger, enabling timely and personalized engagement. To create a new journey, log in to Adobe Journey Optimizer, navigate to Journeys under Journey Management, and click Create Journey. Provide a meaningful name for the journey. Drag and drop the Investment Preference event onto the canvas. This event serves as the entry point of the journey. Next, drag and drop the email action onto the canvas to deliver the follow-up communication. The Email Channel step in Adobe Journey Optimizer is used to send personalized emails to customers as they progress through a journey. When the journey reaches this step, AGO uses the configured execution address and the selected email template to deliver the message. In this journey, the Email step uses the pre-configured email channel configuration created earlier in the course. However, instead of relying on the profile’s default delivery address, you override it with the email value submitted in the event payload. To do this, click the Show Read Only Fields icon within the Email step. This reveals the execution address settings and allows you to replace the profile’s default email with the event’s email field. This approach enables you to send personalized emails immediately after a form submission, even when the user does not yet exist as a profile in AEP. The email body content was built using the Adobe Journey Optimizer Email Designer, which provides an intuitive drag-and-drop interface for assembling responsive email layouts. The design began with a blank canvas, where text blocks, images, and buttons were added and styled using the built-in formatting tools for fonts, colors, and spacing. To enhance the visual appeal of the message, the hero image included in the email was generated using Adobe Firefly, ensuring a high-quality, on-brand graphic created specifically for this use case. Personalization was added by inserting dynamic fields from the event payload through the Personalization Editor, allowing the email to display the customer’s submitted details, such as their name or selected investment preference. Finally, including an unsubscribe link in emails sent through Adobe Journey Optimizer is essential for both compliance and customer experience.
