Troubleshoot the Product Recommendations module in Adobe Commerce

If you are not seeing product recommendations in Adobe Commerce, check your behavioral data collection, SaaS Data Space and API key, and Catalog SaaS Export configuration. The magento/product-recommendations module and its dependency, saas-export, must both be running correctly to use the Product Recommendations tool. Recommendations can also take up to 24 hours to appear after setup.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 - 2.4.7

Issue/Symptoms

The magento/product-recommendations module and its dependency, saas-export, must both be running correctly to use the Product Recommendations tool in Adobe Commerce.

Even when the magento/product-recommendations module is configured correctly (see Product Recommendations - Install and Configure), recommendations might not appear. Possible causes include insufficient behavioral data, invalid SaaS configuration, or issues with the Catalog SaaS Export module.

Resolution resolution

Take the following steps to try to resolve the issue with the Product Recommendations module

  • The module might not have had enough time to collect behavioral data. Allow the system to run for 24 hours so it can start collecting data. Consider deploying a recommendation type that does not require behavioral data, such as More like this.
  • If you aren’t seeing the recommendations that you configured, there might not yet be sufficient data to build recommendations.
  • Ensure the SaaS Data Space or API key is valid. If you get an error after specifying your SaaS Data Space or API key during the Product Recommendations initialization, verify that you entered the SaaS Data Space and API key correctly.
  • To ensure the MageID and API key are linked, the MageID and API key must be owned by the same person — typically whoever holds the Adobe Commerce license. If you must change the MageID that was used, submit a Support ticket.

NOTE: If Cookie Restriction Mode is enabled, Adobe Commerce does not collect behavioral data until the shopper consents. If Cookie Restriction Mode is disabled, Adobe Commerce collects behavioral data by default.

Resolve Catalog SaaS Export module issues:

For issues related to the Catalog SaaS Export (saas-export) module:

  1. Confirm that the cron jobs are running.

  2. Confirm that the indexers are running and that the Product Feed indexer is set to Update by Schedule.

  3. Confirm that the modules are enabled. The saas-export metapackage installs the following modules, all of which must be enabled:

    • magento/module-catalog-data-exporter
    • magento/module-catalog-inventory-data-exporter
    • magento/module-catalog-url-rewrite-data-exporter
    • magento/module-configurable-product-data-exporter
    • magento/module-data-exporter
    • magento/module-saas-catalog
  4. Check the logs. Make sure that there are no errors associated with the modules listed above.

  5. Refresh the Configuration cache. Go to System, then Tools, then Cache Management, and clear the Configuration cache.

  6. Confirm that there is data in the cde_products_feed database table.

NOTE: If you cannot find that table, check the catalog_data_exporter_products table. The table name was changed in the Data Export version 103.3.0 release.
