This article explains why the AI Generated metadata tab doesn’t appear in Adobe Experience Manager Assets properties for certain file types such as pptx, svg, mp4, mov, ps, pdf, and ai.

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service (all versions)

Issue/Symptoms


When uploading assets of the following types: pptx, svg, mp4, mov, ps, pdf, and ai to AEM Assets, the AI Generated tab isn’t visible in the asset properties Touch UI. This behavior is reproducible after uploading and processing these asset types.

  • The AI Generated tab appears for supported raster image formats only.
  • No error messages are displayed; the tab is simply absent for unsupported file types.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Review the list of supported file formats for AI-generated metadata in AEM Assets:

    • Supported formats include: png, jpg, jpeg, psd, tiff, gif, webp, crw, cr2, 3fr, nef, arw, and bmp.

  2. Confirm that the asset type in question isn’t among the supported raster image formats.

  3. If the asset is of type pptx, svg, mp4, mov, ps, pdf, or ai, understand that the AI Generated tab won’t appear, as AI metadata isn’t generated for these formats.

  4. No configuration changes or troubleshooting are required; this is expected product behavior.

Cause

The AI Generated metadata feature in AEM Assets is currently designed to support only specific raster image formats. Other file types, such as pptx, svg, mp4, mov, ps, pdf, and ai, aren’t eligible for AI metadata extraction, so the tab doesn’t appear for these assets.
