ACSD-50895: Google Analytics 3 GTM tags are not fired if Google Analytics 4 GTM is not configured

The ACSD-50895 patch fixes the issue where Google Analytics 3 GTM tags are not fired if Google Analytics 4 GTM is not configured. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.1.33 is installed. The patch ID is ACSD-50895. Please note that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.4.7.

  • Adobe Commerce (all deployment methods) 2.4.5 - 2.4.6-p1
NOTE
The patch might become applicable to other versions with new Quality Patches Tool releases. To check if the patch is compatible with your Adobe Commerce version, update the magento/quality-patches package to the latest version and check the compatibility on the Quality Patches Tool: Search for patches page. Use the patch ID as a search keyword to locate the patch.

Issue

Google Analytics 3 GTM tags are not fired if Google Analytics 4 GTM is not configured.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Log in as an admin user.
  2. Enable Google Analytics 3 and Google Tag Manager in Admin > Store > Configuration > Sales > Google API > Google Analytics.
  3. Do not enable the Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
  4. Open the product page on the Storefront.

Expected results:

The GTM tags are fired when only Google Analytics 3 GTM is enabled.

Actual results:

The GTM tags are not fired when Google Analytics 4 GTM is disabled.
