MDVA-30107: Store switcher does not work as expected

The MDVA-30107 patch solves the issue where the store switcher doesn’t work as expected if different base URLs are used for store views. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.0.5 is installed.

Affected products and versions

  • Adobe Commerce on-premises 2.3.0 - 2.3.5.x
  • Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure 2.3.0 - 2.3.5.x
The patch might become applicable to other versions with new Quality Patches Tool releases. To check if the patch is compatible with your Adobe Commerce version, update the magento/quality-patches package to the latest version and check the compatibility on the Quality Patches Tool: Search for patches page. Use the patch ID as a search keyword to locate the patch.

When a user switches between stores using the store switcher, the request fails if the target store has a different base URL.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create two or more stores with different base URLs.
  2. Go to a category page on a storefront of any of those stores.
  3. Try switching to the other store using the store switcher.

Expected results:

You are redirected to a similar page of the other store.

Actual results:

You are redirected to the homepage of the same store.
