21. Data Collection & Real-time Server Side Forwarding with Launch

In this module, you’ll use the previously configured datasets, schemas and Launch property to collect data, and then forward that data server-side to an endpoint of choice.

In this module, you’ll:

  • Create a Launch Server-Side property
  • Install and use the Adobe Cloud Connector extension in Launch
  • Create a Google Function endpoint and stream data to it
  • Create a Microsoft Azure Function endpoint and stream data to it

Learning Objectives

  • Become familiar with Launch Server Side properties and the new Adobe Cloud Connector extension
  • Understand how to reuse Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK data in 3rd party solutions like Google and Microsoft
  • Understand the architecture behind Edge Data Collection and Server Side Forwarding.

  • Access to Adobe Experience Platform and Launch
  • Understanding of Adobe Experience Platform datasets and XDM

Exercises

21.1 Create a Launch Server Side property

In this exercise, you’ll create your Launch Server Side property.

21.2 Update your Edge Configuration to make data available to your Launch Server Side property

In this exercise, you’ll update your existing Edge Configuration to make data that is collected by your Launch Client Side property available to your Launch Server Side property.

21.3 Create and configure a custom webhook

In this exercise, you’ll create and configure a custom webhook and you’ll start forwarding data that is collected by Web SDK to that custom webhook.

21.4 Create and configure a Google Cloud Function

In this exercise, you’ll create and configure a Google Cloud Function and you’ll start forwarding data that is collected by Web SDK to Google.

21.5 Create and configure a Microsoft Azure Function

In this exercise, you’ll create and configure a Microsoft Azure Function and you’ll start forwarding data that is collected by Web SDK to Microsoft Azure.

21.6 Test and troubleshoot your data collection

In this exercise, you’ll test and troubleshoot your data collection using the Adobe Experience Platform debugger extension for Chrome.
