ACSD-50849: Adding new product after clearing cache results in mismatch

The ACSD-50849 patch fixes the issue where adding a new product to the category after clearing the cache results in a mismatch of positions and selections of the existing products. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) QPT 1.1.32 is installed. The patch ID is ACSD-50849. Please note that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.4.7.

The patch is created for Adobe Commerce version:

  • Adobe Commerce (all deployment methods) 2.4.4 - 2.4.5-p3

Issue

Adding a new product to the category after clearing the cache results in a mismatch of positions and selections of the existing products.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create two products.
  2. Assign one product to a category.
  3. Open the category from the admin.
  4. Clean the cache bin/magento cache:flush.
  5. Add the second product to the category.

Expected results:

The existing products assigned in the category are not removed automatically.

Actual results:

The first (existing) product is removed automatically.
