Review a document in Workfront

As a reviewer, you can view a document that has been submitted to you for review. Unlike an approval, you do not make a decision. Instead, you confirm that you have reviewed the asset.

IMPORTANT

You must have the following access to perform the steps in this article:

Note: If you still don't have access, ask your Workfront administrator if they set additional restrictions in your access level. For information on how a Workfront administrator can modify your access level, see Create or modify custom access levels.

*To find out what plan, license type, or access you have, contact your Workfront administrator.

Review a document from the document page

  1. Go to the document page by clicking on the name of the document.

  2. Select the version of the document you would like review from the dropdown. The latest version will be selected by default.

  3. Hover over the document in the Preview box. Then, either:

    Click Preview to open a read-only version of the document in a new window.

    OR

    Click Download to download a local copy of the document onto your device.

  4. (Optional) Once you have reviewed the document, you can leave a comment for the requester in the document’s Updates section. For more information on commenting, see Update work.

  5. To record that you have completed your review, click Complete review.

Review a document from the Document Summary pane

  1. Go to the project, task, or issue that contains the document, then select Documents.

  2. Click on the document you need and the Document Summary pane will open.

  3. Select the version of the document you would like review in the version dropdown. The latest version will be selected by default.

  4. Hover over the preview of the document in the Details section at the top of the Document Summary pane. Then, either:

    Click Preview to open a read-only version of the document in a new window.

    OR

    Click Download to download a local copy of the document onto your device.

  5. (Optional) Once you have reviewed the document, you can leave a comment for the requester in the document’s Updates section. For more information on commenting, see Update work.

  6. (Optional) You can also preview or download a specific version of the document by scrolling down to the Versions section of the Document Summary pane, then clicking on the More icon next to the version you would like to review and selecting Download or Preview.

  7. To record that you have completed your review, click Complete review.
