Set up exchange rates
The highlighted information on this page refers to functionality not yet generally available. It is available only in the Preview Sandbox environment.
As an Adobe Workfront administrator, you can set up currency exchange rates in Workfront. This includes the following:
- Setting the default currency for the Workfront system
- Updating exchange rates in Workfront to match current exchange rates
- Configuring the exchange rates for multiple currencies (doing so enables users to choose a default currency for individual projects)
Exchange rates impact all financial elements in Workfront. The base currency is the default currency for all projects and reports throughout the system, unless it is overridden for a given project or job role. The current base or default currency is indicated with an icon
For more information about overriding the base currency in Workfront for projects and job roles, see the following articles:
The way that you set up exchange rates affects whether users can modify exchange rates for a given project.

Set effective dates on a currency’s exchange rates
Effective dates for a currency’s exchange rates are configured so that a rate value ends on a specific date and another rate begins. The exchange rate for the correct date is then used in financial calculations.
-
Click the Main Menu icon
in the upper-right corner of Adobe Workfront, or (if available), click the Main Menu icon
in the upper-left corner, then click Setup
.
-
Click Project Preferences > Exchange Rates.
-
Select a currency in the list, and click Manage dates on the action bar.
-
On the (currency name) date effective rates dialog, choose an End Date for the current exchange rate.
Or
Choose a Start Date for the new exchange rate.
The first exchange rate will not have a start date and the last rate will not have an end date. Some dates are added automatically. For example, if the first rate does not have an end date, and you add an exchange rate with a start date of December 1, 2025, an end date of November 30, 2025 is added to the first rate so that no gaps exist.
-
Type the new Exchange rate value.
-
(Optional) Click Add date effective rate to add more exchange rates with effective dates for this currency.
-
Click Save.
