Hey everybody, it’s Doug. In this video I want to show you how to reference audiences in real-time CDP collaboration. Now just so we’re all on the same page, some people refer to this as importing audiences, onboarding audiences, or even sourcing audiences, but we will use the term referencing audiences as I walk through the demo. So we have set up our organization, our account here called LumaDemo, and so I’ve set up the organization but as I click into my audiences, you’ll see that I haven’t added any audiences yet. It says add your audiences and share them with collaborators to gain insights. Now if I had already gone through this process and added some audiences, they would show up on this page. So at that point I would go up here to add more audiences to this plus icon and add an audience, and that does the same thing as clicking on our button here in the middle. So I’ll click on either one of them. And the first thing we need to do is to add a new data connection. Think of the data connection as the source for our audiences. In fact that will become super clear as I click next, and you’ll be able to see that currently the source I have selected here is Adobe Experience Platform. So it is the audiences that I have in platform right now. And then at the time of this recording, you see that CSV file, Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, and Google Cloud Platform are all coming soon, so you can expect to see those soon as well as more. So for now I will go ahead and click next. And then I need to choose in this case the sandbox in platform where I know my audiences exist that I want to reference. So I just happen to know that the ones I’m going to look for are in this advertiser one sandbox, which is a development sandbox so it might be in one of your dev sandboxes here or might be in your production sandbox. So I’m going to go ahead and click this one. And this would of course necessitate that you know the sandbox that your audiences are in. So just make sure you know that before you go through this process. And we’ll go up and hit next. And then we are setting the governance policy and enforcement actions settings. So the first thing we can look at are these marketing actions and what are you going to use this data for, for data science, for data collaboration. And there’s a nice little information bubble here. If I click on that, you’ll see that the data collaboration option right back here is supporting C4, C5, and C9 data usage labels in experience platform. So I clicked through to this glossary down here and I have that right up here. So C4, C5, and C9. So in other words, if you have audiences that are marked with these labels, it means data cannot be used for targeting any ads or content, either onsite or cross site. Data cannot be used for interspace cross site targeting of content or ads. And down here being used in data science workflows. So think of these as restrictions. And so if you have certain audiences that have data that cannot be used in these specific ways, then they will not be able to come through and be collaborated with if you have that item checked. So this check kind of means make sure that nothing comes through that shouldn’t come through. And with data science, it’s just that C9 one that we just looked at. So this is just like, you know, marking the restrictions because you know, whatever you’re going to use it for, go ahead and mark here. So I’ll leave those like that. And then you can set the consent option here that applies to you. And you’ll notice when I click next now, I’ll get this governance policy and enforcement rules or enforcement actions notification so that you can agree to apply opt outs when it’s required by law, et cetera. So I’m going to go ahead and accept that and hit OK. And then you can choose a name of your data connection here. And I’m just going to leave the ADV one. That’s fine. And everything that we’ve done so far is really for the data connection. So I’m going to show that in a minute here when we get done with this one. And I’ll kind of circle back through for a second. Go ahead and click next. And now it’s the source fields that I need to identify because I have chose hashed email as my match key. So I go into this source fields and I’ll look for this. It’s going to go through my fields and I’m going to look for email and I have a regular email and then I have a hashed email and this does need to be hashed. So I’m going to choose this shot to 56 email here. But keep in mind, I can choose this one and I’m going to show you that here in a second. I select that one. And so it’s kind of saying, yes, you’re going to use this one. It’s going to go into the hashed email target field. Had I chosen the other one that was not already hashed, then I could apply the transformation here. So you can use a regular non hashed email here and then apply the transformation. Now go ahead and hit next again. And I’m going to apply the date range. This is fine. When do you want that to start and stop? And then here are the audiences that are in that sandbox that I can reference. You can select as many as you want from here. So I’ll select a few of these and you’ll want to reference any of these audiences that you want to use for insights and activation. And I’ll choose these four and then hit next. At this point, you just kind of review what you have selected and you can go ahead and hit complete. And now in my audiences, we have these four different audiences here. And if I add more audiences or if I want to, I can go up to this plus sign here, add an audience, choose the data connection that was already set up that we just did. And then when I hit next, takes me all the way right away to the audiences because all of the other stuff that I did was associated with that data connection. So once you go through that once, you can get to your audiences really quick and then, you know, add more audiences if you want to add one more. I’m going to go ahead and hit next gives me the review and I can complete. And now I’ve added that extra audience as well. So that is how you reference audiences as you are setting up and working with real-time CDB collaboration. Good luck.
