Activate audiences in Collaboration projects
Learn how to activate audiences to your collaboration partners in Real-Time CDP Collaboration projects. For more information, visit the documentation.
Hey everybody, it’s Doug. In this video we’ll take a look at the Activate module in Realtime CDP Collaboration Projects.
So far we’ve used the Discover section to compare the overlaps between our audiences and our collaborators’ audiences. Now let’s say we’ve decided on an audience that we want to use for things like targeting, suppression, or expansion. The next step is to send, or activate, that audience to your collaborator. To do that, we’ll just head over to the Activate tab in the interface.
And quick note before we start, since I haven’t activated any audiences in this project yet, I get a prompt here at the bottom. I can also click the plus sign up here on the right at any time to activate an audience. Now also keep in mind, if your collaborator hasn’t created any destinations yet, you won’t be able to activate an audience to them. In that case, you’ll see a message about it here on the Activate screen, and you’ll need to wait until your collaborator sets up that destination in the collaboration interface. And by the way, this process works the same whether you’re collaborating in an advertiser to publisher or brand to brand use case. In our case, the collaborator has already created a destination, so let’s go ahead and send an audience.
Now we just pick the audience that we have decided to activate. You can either use the dropdown here or browse audiences where you can see the overlap numbers and percentages and such. When activating audiences to a collaborator, you are only activating the mutually overlapped audiences.
Once we’ve selected our audience, we hit Save. Next we’ll see the audience details where we can update the match keys we want to activate if needed.
We can also set how often we want this audience to refresh for a longer campaign, for instance. For now, we’ll keep it simple with a one-time send using today’s date.
And that brings us back to the main Activate page where we can see the audience we just configured. And of course, you can activate more audiences anytime. Once you’ve activated an audience to your collaborator, they will receive the audience and can activate to their downstream destination and use those audiences for enrichment, personalization, reason for targeting, suppression or expansion in paid media campaigns.
And that’s it. I hope this walkthrough helps you get collaboration set up and moving forward. And good luck.
