Manage the room settings

In a Live Hub session, Instructors can control participant permissions and room behavior using in-room settings. These settings allow you to manage participant interactions, what is captured in the recording, privacy, and AI-powered assistance features to ensure a structured and engaging session.

Access in-room settings

  1. Join the Live Hub session.

  2. Select More actions from the control bar.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select the relevant tab from the left panel:

    1. Participant permissions: Control what participants can do during the session, such as using their microphone, camera, screen share, whiteboard, and private chat.

    2. Recording: Choose what gets captured in the recording, including participant video feeds, polls, and the chat transcript.

    3. AI: Turn the session’s AI assistants on or off, including the Q&A assistant, poll assistant, breakout monitoring agent, and recording topics generation.

    4. Privacy: Show or hide enrolled participants who haven’t joined the session yet.

  5. Change the required settings.

  6. Select Done.

In-room settings options

The following settings help you manage the session by controlling what participants can do, what is captured in the recording, which AI assistants are active, and how participants appear to one another.

Default: Participants can use their microphone, share their camera, and send private messages in chat.

Allows the participants to speak during the session.

Allows the participants to turn on their video.

Allows the participants to present their screens.
Use whiteboard
Allows the participants to draw and collaborate on the whiteboard.
Send private messages
Allows the participants to send private messages to one another in chat.

Recording

Default: Participant video feeds and polls are captured in the recording, while the chat transcript is not.

Exclude participants video feeds
Leaves participant video feeds out of the recording.
Exclude polls
Leaves polls out of the recording.
Include chat
Adds the chat transcript to the recording.

AI

Default: All AI assistants are enabled if the Administrators have enabled them.

Enable Q&A assistant and answer generation
Detects participant questions in Chat and drafts answers grounded in uploaded content and session transcript, for Instructors to review, refine, and share.
Enable poll assistant
Creates polls from the course content and the live session transcript, icebreakers, or knowledge checks, ready to review and launch in one click.
Enable breakout monitoring agent
Reads each room's transcript against the Instructor's objective, posts a status card every few minutes, and delivers per-room discussion summaries plus a single cross-room synthesis of themes, decisions, and gaps for an instant debrief.
Enable recording topics generation
Recordings are auto-segmented into named topics with timestamps and structured notes, so a participant can go straight to what they need or learn from the notes without watching at all.

Privacy

Default: All enrolled participants are visible to everyone.

Show participants who haven't joined
Displays enrolled participants who have not yet joined. Turn it off to hide them until they join.
