Monitoring session engagement
The engagement indicator helps instructors understand overall learner participation during a session. Engagement is calculated based on learner activities such as speaking, participating in chat, and interacting with the session. Individual engagement scores are updated regularly and aggregated to provide an overall session engagement level.
The engagement indicator displays one of the following levels:
- High (green): Indicates a high level of learner engagement.
- Medium (yellow): Indicates a moderate level of learner engagement.
- Low (red): Indicates a low level of learner engagement.
Engagement scores are calculated for each learner and refreshed periodically. The session-wide engagement level represents the average engagement of all participants in the session. Instructors are excluded from the calculation. Learner scores are mapped as follows:
- 0–30: Low engagement
- 31–60: Medium engagement
- 61–100: High engagement
This indicator provides a quick view of overall participation and can help instructors adjust activities to improve learner engagement.
