Audits in Preflight
Preflight audits your page to identify opportunities to enhance your content before publishing. Unlike an automatic scan, you choose when to run the audits, so you can analyze a page whenever you are ready.
To run Preflight audits for a page:
- Open the page that you want to audit in your authoring environment (Universal Editor, Document-based authoring, or AEM Sites Page Editor).
- Open the Preflight panel. Preflight opens to the Run performance readiness audit landing screen.
- Select Analyze page. Preflight runs all of its audits on the current page and opens the readiness dashboard, where it displays a readiness score and the opportunities it finds, grouped by category.
To understand the preview results and identify optimization opportunities, see Audit results in Preflight.
Use the integrated Preflight button
If your author environment is running AEM 2026.7.0 (release 27083) or later, Preflight is built into the AEM Sites Page Editor toolbar. Select the Preflight icon (the play button) to open the panel for the current page, then select Analyze page to run the audits.
Continue a previous session
Preflight remembers your most recent run, so you don’t have to rerun the audits if you leave and come back.
- If you reopen the Preflight panel in the same browser tab — including after a refresh — Preflight loads the results of your last run automatically.
- If you return in a new tab or after closing the browser, the landing screen shows a Continue last session button next to Analyze page. Select Continue last session to reload your most recent results, or select Analyze page to start a new run.
Preflight tracks the most recent run separately for each page, so Continue last session always reloads the last run for the page you are on.
When you reload a previous run, the header shows how long ago that run was performed — for example, 2 minutes ago or yesterday — so you can tell at a glance how current the results are. The label updates as time passes and stays visible as you move between the readiness dashboard and the audit detail pages.
Once the audits finish and results are displayed, select Reanalyze from the More actions (…) menu in the toolbar to discard the results and run every audit again. See Audit results in Preflight.
