Missing asset renditions in Adobe Experience Manager Content Hub download panel

This article explains how to resolve an issue where only the original asset rendition is available for download in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Hub, while additional renditions such as smart crops, dynamic media renditions, and custom static renditions are not displayed.

Description description

Environment

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Hub (all versions)
  • Dynamic Media with OpenAPI integration

Issue/Symptoms

  • Only the original rendition is available for download in Content Hub.
  • Additional renditions, such as smart crops, Dynamic Media renditions, and custom static renditions, are not displayed as download options.
  • The issue occurs even when the Enable availability of renditions option is enabled in the Content Hub configuration.
  • No error messages are shown.
  • The issue affects assets with additional renditions regardless of asset type or size.
  • Default cq5dam.* thumbnails are not expected to appear as download options.

Cause

Rendition visibility in Content Hub may not update until the relevant image profiles (Smart Crop or static rendition processing profiles) are re-saved after enabling Dynamic Media with OpenAPI. This action refreshes the mapping and restores rendition options in the download panel.

Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

  1. Confirm that Dynamic Media with OpenAPI is enabled and fully configured for your environment.

    • Navigate to the Dynamic Media configuration panel and verify that OpenAPI integration is active.
  2. Re-save the Smart Crop image profile associated with affected assets.

    • Go to Tools > Assets > Processing Profiles.
    • Open the relevant Smart Crop profile.
    • Click Save & Close to re-apply the profile.
  3. If static renditions are missing, re-save any custom static rendition processing profiles.

    • Open the processing profile used for static renditions.
    • Click Save & Close to re-apply the profile.
  4. Ensure that the affected assets are approved and available for use in Content Hub.

  5. Validate that the affected assets now display all expected renditions (Smart Crops, Dynamic, and Static) in the Content Hub download panel.

Note

If renditions are still not visible, collect asset IDs and configuration screenshots and contact Adobe Support for further assistance.
