Description description

The Next-Gen Dynamic Media Video Player provides an enhanced video playback experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service. By default, this player isn’t enabled and must be activated for each environment. Organizations migrating from custom video components or legacy viewers may need to test and integrate the new player before full adoption.

Environment

  • Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) (all versions)

Symptoms

  • The video (new) option doesn’t appear in the viewers list for video assets.
  • No error messages are shown; the new viewer is simply unavailable.

Cause

  • The Next-Gen Dynamic Media Video Player is a feature-flagged capability that must be enabled by Adobe for each environment.

Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Verify prerequisites:

    • Ensure that Dynamic Media is enabled in your AEM as a Cloud Service environments.

    • Confirm that video assets are ingested with an adaptive video profile if adaptive streaming (DASH/HLS) is required. Adaptive streaming is only available for assets with the adaptive profile.

  2. Prepare your support request:

    • Gather the list of AEM environments (For example: Development, Staging, Production) where you want the Next-Gen Dynamic Media Video Player enabled.

    • (Optional) Prepare a brief description of your current video implementation and migration goals, if relevant.

  3. Contact Adobe Support to request enablement:

    • Submit a support request via the Adobe Admin Console or your standard support channel.
