Historical data is missing in Customer Journey Analytics after dataset stitching
Historical data does not appear in Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) reports after enabling or updating dataset stitching, even though the data remains available in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). This issue occurs because historical data associated with the dataset is removed from CJA when stitching configurations are updated. To resolve the issue, run a new backfill for affected data.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)
Issue/Symptoms
- Historical data is visible in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) but does not appear in Customer Journey Analytics reports.
- Reports show missing data for historical date ranges.
- A backfill was previously triggered, but historical data remains unavailable in CJA.
- Dataset stitching is enabled or recently updated on the affected dataset.
Cause
Updating stitching configurations on a dataset removes all historical data associated with that dataset from Customer Journey Analytics. A new backfill is required to restore the historical data in CJA reports.
Resolution resolution
To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:
- Open Customer Journey Analytics and navigate to the settings for the affected dataset.
- Verify that dataset stitching is enabled for the dataset.
- Trigger a manual backfill from the dataset settings and select the required historical date range.
- Allow the backfill process to complete before reviewing the reports.
- Validate that the historical data appears correctly in Customer Journey Analytics reports after the backfill finishes.
