AEM Assets Power User Profile does not grant Content Hub access

ContentHub repositories are not available in AEM Assets when only the Power User product profile is assigned. This behavior occurs because the profile does not include ContentHub permissions. To fix this issue, assign the Limited User profile along with the Power User profile.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets (all versions)

Issue/Symptoms

  • Users with only the Power User product profile can’t access ContentHub repositories.
  • ContentHub options don’t appear in the AEM Assets interface.
  • No error messages display when ContentHub access is missing.
  • Adding the Limited User profile enables ContentHub access.

Cause

The Power User profile alone does not provide ContentHub access and requires the Limited User profile by design.

Resolution resolution

To fix this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Adobe Admin Console and review the product profile assignments for the affected account.
  2. Assign both the Power User and Limited User product profiles to provide access to standard AEM Assets features and ContentHub.
  3. Save the changes and allow profile updates to apply.
  4. Confirm that ContentHub becomes accessible after adding the Limited User profile.

Note: Assigning both profiles counts the account once for licensing and does not consume additional entitlements.
