False delay alerts for source flow runs in AEP

In Adobe Experience Platform, alerts for sources flow run delays appear even when dataflow runs finish successfully and within expected processing times. This happens because the alerting system’s monitoring signals don’t always match the actual run metrics shown in the UI. To fix this issue, confirm the run status in the UI and treat the alert as informational if the run completed successfully.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Platform

Issue/Symptoms

Delay alerts indicate that certain source flow runs exceeded expected processing times (for example, 61 minutes), but the UI shows these flows completed in about one minute with a “Success” status.

Resolution resolution

To fix this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Review any delay alert received for a source flow run.
  2. Open the Adobe Experience Platform UI and locate the corresponding dataflow run.
  3. Check the start and end times, as well as the total processing duration displayed in the UI.
  4. Confirm that the run completed successfully and within the expected time (e.g., approximately one minute).
  5. If confirmed, treat the delay alert as informational; no further action is required.
  6. Verify that data ingestion for these runs has completed successfully.

Note: The false positive alerts are caused by temporary delays in monitoring signals, not by actual issues with dataflow execution. Engineering improvements to align alert logic with real run timings are underway, but no specific completion timeframe is available at this time.
