Broadlog ID not sent to Adobe Analytics via Campaign Managed Cloud integration

Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud doesn’t send Broadlog IDs to Adobe Analytics when using the standard workflow webAnalyticsSendMetrics. This occurs because the standard configuration does not include Broadlog IDs unless they are explicitly passed through tracked URLs. To ensure Broadlog IDs appear in Analytics reports, configure tracking links to include the required parameters.

Description description

Environment

  • Product: Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud, v8
  • Offering: PUSH

Issue/Symptoms

  • Broadlog ID doesn’t appear in Adobe Analytics reports when using the standard out-of-the-box integration with Adobe Campaign Managed Cloud.
  • The integration fails to process individual Broadlog records, resulting in missing identifiers in reporting tools.

Root Cause

The Broadlog ID is a unique identifier for every message sent by Adobe Campaign. It enables tracking of individual recipient actions (opens, clicks, unsubscribes), segmentation, and detailed reporting.
In Adobe Campaign, the Broadlog ID field is required for proper link generation. Without it:

  • Tracking links won’t include the Broadlog ID.
  • Campaign can’t track or analyze individual-level recipient actions in Adobe Analytics.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Confirm tracking URLs are enabled and correctly configured in Adobe Campaign.
  2. Ensure the enrichment formula for tracked URLs includes both Broadlog ID (bid) and Campaign ID (cid) as UTM parameters.
  3. Verify that emails sent from Campaign contain tracking links with these parameters.
  4. When a recipient clicks a tracked link, confirm the URL includes both bid and cid.
  5. Check that these parameters are received by Adobe Analytics through the tracking mechanism.
  6. Note that sending individual-level data (for example, Broadlog IDs) outside of tracking URLs—such as via workflows like webAnalyticsSendMetrics—is not supported by default or through any documented workaround.
  7. If passing Broadlog IDs via tracking URLs doesn’t meet business needs, engage Adobe Consulting Services for a custom integration.
  8. Verify in Analytics reports that data associated with bid and cid appears as expected.

Notes:

  • The standard webAnalyticsSendMetrics workflow sends only aggregated delivery-level metrics to Analytics; it does not transmit individual Broadlog records like Broadlog IDs.
  • Individual identifiers such as Broadlog ID are supported only through tracked email links—not via backend workflows or other mechanisms.
  • Custom solutions may require development and should be implemented with guidance from Adobe Consulting Services to ensure best practices.
