Support for KMS-encrypted S3 buckets in Adobe Experience Platform
Last update: January 13, 2025
This article explains Adobe Experience Platform’s support for encryption methods, detailing data ingestion and export options.
Description
Environment
- Product: Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
Issue/Symptoms
Does Adobe Experience Platform support Amazon S3 buckets encrypted with AWS Key Management Service (KMS) for data ingestion and export?
Resolution
Currently, Adobe Experience Platform does not support KMS-encrypted S3 buckets for data ingestion or export. Instead, the platform supports other encryption mechanisms:
- Data ingestion: Supported asymmetric encryption methods are PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) and GPG (GNU Privacy Guard).
- Cloud storage destinations: PGP encryption is available for cloud storage exports.
For more details on handling encrypted data within the platform:
- Refer to the documentation on ingesting encrypted data through the sources UI and Platform APIs.
- Consult resources related to export destination encryption processes.
If you have additional questions or need more information after reviewing this guidance, contact support or refer to the official Adobe Experience Platform documentation.
