Top 3 Special Edition! Watch Me Work – 3 Ways [2nd Video]

Hi everybody, it’s Cynthia Boone your on-demand work front CSM and I am back the second video in our three part series of watch Me work. So let’s just jump right into the top three features that I used as a project manager now. I Like a lot of y’all my system admin and project management. Those were not my full-time gigs So what was the number three? Well, it’s tabs. I have so many tabs Like this is not an accurate reflection of how many tabs that I would have open on a day-to-day basis Um, and I know a lot of people work that way but the questions that we get are well Why do you work that way? So I just want to talk about it So I am one of those people that like to have a home base of here’s the portfolio that I’m working in Or the campaign that I’m working on and I’m right-clicking and I’m opening all of the projects that my focus for today Or this week and I had a separate tab for every single one of those projects so that I could just easily Go in between and back and forth Also, I would find specific information For example, this is a dashboard that has the custom form information from the original request on this project So I’d have a separate tab so I could track that as I was working the project on The dashboards I also would have a specific dashboard that had here’s the last note That I could see really quickly the last notes that were coming in on projects and focus on that as well as a PTO calendar See who is available to work The last dashboard that I would always have up is all the requests that were coming in what those statuses were Have they’ve been converted because as a project manager, that’s what we do This is this is your elevator speech to your boss. You’re not just working your portfolios and your programs You’re working every project you’re working every task you are Seeing what’s coming in what the updates are and you’re assigning work So having all those tabs open is incredibly helpful But if that’s not for you totally get it. There is no wrong way to work in work front The only wrong thing is to not work in work front. Yep. You can quote me on that Alright so the number two feature that I love as a project manager is a summary panel. I really enjoy it. So One of the things I worked so many projects, but I also had a lot of projects that might have over a hundred tasks so trying to do quick updates trying to Find out what’s going on or log time really quickly The summary panel is amazing. So, you know, I could just have this summary panel up say okay. Hello what’s going on? I could go down here. I could log time and then I could move literally You know to the next task just uncheck that move to the next task and then I could make some more updates So the summary panel super helpful But the last thing that I really again having so many tasks per project Is that quick quick filter on the page? I love the quick filter it it saves me so much time Now here’s a project with a lot of tasks if I want to know everything that’s assigned to Roman I can look that up really quickly then I can just X out I can find all the baby Yoda tasks And then I could just X out What’s great is if you actually do the quick filter Along with the summary panel like that is a clean way to work a project and I just absolutely love that Here is also Bonus tip at the end. I don’t know what your favorite view as a project managers I would love people to share in the comments, but as a project manager I loved ones that showed me my task constraint a task constraint Mike is critical and my status icons That way I knew exactly what was happening with the tasks and I could see how they were calculating Whatever works for you.
